i've been saying for years that housing should be limited to 1 house per account per server and that all your alts should be able to share your house this will free up alot of multi owner houses, i dont like to complain however in a game with limited housing allowing 1 person to own an entire ward is just strait b/sAlts are absolutely a problem, because if someone with say eight characters was in a lottery with 16 people, that's a 50/50 chance to win. Rich people with alts (especially omni crafters) might be tempted to abuse the lottery system. They absolutely should be prevented from doing so. There is nothing okay about this.

Does 4/29 also coincide with plots that were vacated by people who moved to other districts?
4/29 is when the next lottery phase goes into effect whether you moved, transferred, died, or fell asleep.

I think its highly unlikely they are doing this for RMT.I mean they are being conservative. Once they have verified the issue is fixed they could change it instantly. All this post is doing is making assumptions and drumming up hysteria where it may not even be extended that long.
They are a group that has created numerous FC's with numerous service accounts in order to buy out all the FC plots in Ward 2 of every server and every location. They are planning to use them to generate gil via airships and submersibles. Each house can generate about 400k per day. I assume they are doing this for gil selling RMT
Fortunately they have named all their FC's in each ward with the same tag so hopefully square can do something about it. I believe their main FC is 'Billionaire Boys'
Square please do something about this (after you fix housing lottery)
Its almost certainly an ego trip, and one that seems to be technically done legally
I believe they could still have a path to take against them in the ToS and they absolutely should, but they have bigger issues to fix. And its not like this is stopping a single FC from getting a plot on materia.
THEY CAN STILL HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF GETTING THE PLOT, and ruin the fairness of the lottery system. You shouldn't have to bid against one persons multiple characters, or feel like you have to start working on multiple characters as fast as possible in order to get a lot. That will just make this problem worse. Stop using alts to increase your chance on a house. It's bad taste, and will make the lottery system worse if it becomes a trend. While they would bump up the chance to win, if they are all bidding on 1 singular house thats only 1 house out of the system, and if the alts didn't already have houses then they aren't covered by the grandfathering and that lone house would take up one of their 1 personal/1 fc lead per world.
Hence OP saying don't be an alarmist lol
This is what I don't understand from this maintenance.
I know that people who got their houses get to keep it, people who got the bug can reclaim it still. Eventually. When? Dunno :|
I don't understand if people who got a refund due to the bug will still be able to get the plot, or if they'll have to wait for a 2nd round. With less houses to choose from. And more competition. Because we weren't aware a bug was going on.
They extended the lottery thing for 9 days, but no mention of a follow-up maintenance. No mention of whether people who got a refund would be compensated or just ignored.
If they did mention it, then their wording was so vague I didn't fully grasp it at the time. So I'm asking for clarification. And if that information is still vague to everyone in general, then it's fine, I'd like to know that too. I just want to understand what the situation at the moment is.
