I wish but the open world maps here are flat and lifeless. Sky diving would not work since we barely have any mountains and so on.

It's been a hot minute since I played GW2, but I feel like FFXIV's maps are a bit too small for flying like this, perhaps I'm misremembering though.
You also have to take into account that GW2 has a lot of verticality in at least the newer zones. Nevertheless, I'd like to see a more engaging flying than a glorified noclip with a speed modifier, but I understand that it'd need to be either restricted to specific zones made for it, or with some sort of zone reworks.
Flying? No, that's fine. What we need is the Roller Beetle (and some map(s) to use it properly on, of course).
I do wonder how ffxiv maps will improve in future.. the sort of vast emptiness with a few monster speckled around isn't great! Having more content in the world would be nice.
Oh, my comment wasn't directed to you as if you had complained.I haven't complained about Hrothy (I could care less about them tbh but still do wish the hrothy players their ears back) and I don't mind viera either, sad I can't wear all the hats I would on miqo but otherwise enjoy the race and am pleased they add new hair.
I fail to see what your issue is, it's an innocent suggestion that is not likely to happen at all and you are acting like people's suggestions are equivalent to us walking up to SE dev desks and throwing out their current work lol
Mounts in this game could be vastly improved, their movement and how they feel to fly and run around as another said feels stiff. I think at least our chocobo should feel MUCH more special given it is our companion.
Players can ask for whatever they want, it is for the devs to manage their time and decide what takes priority. Just because they see player feedback doesn't mean they will act on it for some time. As we can see from the years of nothing.. hrothy hair was not that high prio compared to making bun bois a thing. I would bet that female hrothgar will be much less bestial so they can avoid the issues they have had with the males. At least I hope they ain't got the males hunchback.
Just because something is good doesn't mean it can't be improved. FFXIV took a lot of inspiration from WoW, it could do with learning a thing or two from GW2.
It was said in a general perspective.
I think we all know that there are a lot on the forum who's been complaining about something when it comes to Viera and Hrothgars.
Personally I don't really care about Viera, never did.
And I'm fine with Hrothgars as they are, they told us there would be restrictions so I am taking that into consideration.
(Although the Fantasia requirement was a little off)
And I don't have an issue either.
It's just an observation I've made visiting the forums.
People complaining that things aren't finished yet people ask for more features, items, whatever to be added.
Like, why keep asking for more when complaining about other stuff not getting worked on so it can be finished sometime.
Honestly I find it kinda funny.
What are people thinking with sometimes, I wonder.
This is what I was thinking as well.
FFXIV doesn't need more advanced flying as there's little to no verticality.
And the mounts in GW2 are all tailored to serve a purpose as well when traversing the maps.
Imagine the developers rework all the mounts with new animations to work with the more advanced flying.
They can't even make bunny ears pop out of headgear in a way they deem workable.
I mean, FFXIV "ripped off" WoW (by Yoshida's own admittance), Bioshock (deco-flavored underwater cities are totally a common aesthetic, guys!), and most recently Discount Konami Dracula, why not take something from GW2 as well?
I wouldn't mind some mini games or special areas designed around using unique mounts but I'd rather the general mount system to stay as it is. One of the best things about the mounts in FF14 is that they are so varied but they are still all functionally the same. In FF14 I never have to stop using a mount I like just because it's not the fastest one, or the most maneuverable one, the only one that can go under water, etc. I can just choose based on my personal preference and the one I feel like at the time.
If you want to take something from GW2, I'd prefer it to be the glam system and how they handle dyes. MUCH better done there than here.
Mounts are very seldom used in this game, maps are too small and many people have little incentive to return to them once the story is done. I personally only ever see them in frontlines to be honest.
