    Suggestion. Removal of gender-locked hair.

So they started removing the gender lock on some gear (mostly store bought) allowing for the advent of cat boy maids and bunny boy maids. But there is still a lock on hair. As a dude with long hair, bit annoying how limited hair options are based on gender. And unlike gear it's not like you'd need to change proportions much or anything, literally just allow access to assets that are already there.

You know, you could just choose a female avatar.

But I don't want to play a female avatar. You could also just not lock hairstyles to gender which serves no function and would take next to zero effort to make universal.

Agreed, I also prefer to wear long hair regardless of my character's gender. The game in general is lacking in distinct hairstyles that cater to the differences between the sexes. If that must be the case, then let either sex use them.

There's hardly any "heroic" long fantasy hero hair for men and there's barely any long hair that gives off "heroine" vibes for females aside from Venat's hairstyle which no one can access. The shared hairs that all female races have are quite lackluster.

The only race that does long hair generally well seems to be Viera, but I shouldn't have to play as a limited race to be able to use hair that looks good.

Frankly yeah, I think unlocking hairstyles would give people on both sides of the fence more options that they might want. They've sort of stopped genderlocking most hair releases lately (both masc and femme styles, though the latter has... more entries, obviously), so it'd be nice to see older ones unlocked later down the line.

After they get Viera and Hrothgar sorted, anyway - I think we can all agree those races need much more attention than they're getting, before we ever go back to do massive un-genderlocking of old hairstyles.

And that's a bad thing why, exactly? Don't answer, I already know.

This argument does not work. It is a hell of a lot more work for the dev team to take a hairstyle [and attire] clearly designed for female models, and get them to work on males than it to just change to a female.

Your request is the exact reason why I oppose removing restrictions, because it just doesn't stop. You want the attire, then the hair, then the emotes, then a bust slider. It won't stop until your avatar being male is only recognized by the game's engine. Just change to female. Fantasy is really awesome like that.

Which is weird considering it's a Japanese anime game. You'd expect a ton of long hair options like other Japanese anime games. Only reason there aren't is due to laziness really. Can't make a clipping argument these days when everything fucking clips anyway. Same counter-argument to the Viera hat issue. Just cut holes in the hats or let the ears clip through. Just pure laziness.

Yeah hair is a minor problem to the clusterfuck that is the Viera and Roecat issue. That shouldn't be a issue when they're the newest races added so should theoretically be the MOST polished.

You know it's taken 3 years for Viera and Hrothgar to get shared hairstyles right? It's not as simple when SE are on a tight schedule have deadlines to meet.

They're going out of their way to make clothes unisex, they shouldn't put everything on hold because a few people want to wear a hairstyle that was made for a female character. They're getting around to un-genderlocking things one thing at a time, it'll take a while.

Square Enix have extorted money from Viera and Hrothgar's limitations, but from the outside looking in it seems barely any of that money is invested back into the limited races. How much money have they made from players
fantasia'ing to and from the limited races? We want more race-exclusive hair.
We want them improved, and we want it done within a reasonable time.

Hair is literally a matter of changing head size a little. Unlike race it doesn't require much there really isn't much different between the genders here aside fro maybe the Au Ra which are very sexually dimorphic. To go and make the base ones the same wouldn't be too difficult. If a modder can do it for free and it doesn't mess with the code causing crashes everything, no reason they can't do it especially when its less work in the long run than releasing gender locked hairstyles when you can roll out a single hairstyle for everyone.

We already have a bust slider, it does nothing if you notice making it mute. Some gear gives bigger tits than others which also makes no sense. Why do you think every female player runs around in 2B tights and the only tops that give their characters boobs above A-cups. These characters asses otherwise are flatter than mine. And you can't make some family friendly argument when half the female bosses are sexualized as well. It just comes down to laziness. Most asking for sliders arn't asking for jiggle physics anime boobs either, just real-world level differences. But that's a side topic and one I don't really care for but just find amusing.

All I'm asking for is non-gender-locked hairstyles so my character doesn't have shorter hair than I do in real life.
