I do not consider the post Elpis cutscene as a direct representation of real events. I do not consider Venat to have taken appropriate action, instead she fulfills the role of a fallen, hubristic angel than a "supreme deity."

She herself admitted that the trial she subjected humanity to was cruel, as befitting her true status. She is at the source of all suffering in Eorzea's world, on par with having committed the closest thing to the original sin. Paradise was lost because of her, and because of Hermes.

Maintaining Zodiark in his position would have fended off Meteion seemingly indefinitely, and it is only logical for the Ancients to seek to restore their own people no matter the cost to the "new life" which then either went on to cause thousands of years of human strife, or as was implied by others in another thread, may have merely been just other plants and animals that are in no way equivalent to humans.

I do not believe that the world of the Ancients would have resulted in "the Plenty" as it seems they were able to keep themselves quite busy being the creative individuals that they were. In any case, the world lost its two dominant supernatural forces and now only has the Void to keep my interest, goodness help us if these writers have G'raha Tia going to whatever version of McDonald's probably exists there as another high-budget animation sequence.

It took all of 2 seconds from her introduction to figure out that she was the villain and I was pretty much ready to strike her down right then and there if the game would've let me but instead it tried to get me to feel some emotional attachment to her, which I wasn't having at all because I already knew she was the problem and I honestly couldn't give a damn about her. She might have been better foreshadowed then Necrom but I still count her as big a flop as him all the same.
i happened to like Meteion as a character and it wasn't as if she materialized from nowhere. they have been slowly feeding more information about the final days to us since Shadowbringers and they introduced the concept of Dynamis and how emotions can cause extreme change to the world around it very early on in Endwalker and it is the theme of the entire expansion.

so you'll disregard the information we are given because "i don't think that's what actually happened, so i'll follow my own personal narrative because i like it better."

The ancients were ready and willing to sacrifice as many people as needed to shield themselves from everything that gave rise to sorrow. Even before the final days their ideology was built around the notion that they and theirs was a "perfect society", where people were expected to toe the line that countless others had done before them. They shunned anything or anyone that deviated from their vision of a perfect Utopia, which is exactly what created the situation where Meteion came into existence. Hermes was disillusioned with the so-called perfect society and cast his gaze upwards to the stars beyond his reach, seeking to know what gives meaning to the lives of those who don't live on Etheirys.

The cutscenes that don't advance the plot should be in side quests, keeping the main scenario very focused. After saving the world, the WoL's time should be considered quite valuable, so maybe they have helpers who can handle the errands and report back to you, freeing you up to do important things, unless of course you choose to investigate further personally in optional side quests.

It's fine to dislike where the story is going, but, personally, I liked the 6.1 story. It is smaller scale (or at least started smaller), but it makes sense as I see my WoL. I think my WoL would want to help Thavnair recover since he spent a fair bit of time there (building friendships, it is a jrpg after all) and was hit hardest (I think) by the Finals Days and then trying to help Vrtra find "his" sister, not only because his close relationship with Vrtra, but also due to his relationship with Hraesvelgr and Midgarsomr. He has always been focused on the biggest threat, but would always try his best to help every individual person he could.

Also, I consider him an adventurer who got pulled into saving the world so it makes sense that he would want to do something more of a pure adventure like looking for a mythical treasure hoarde. He changed his glamour from big plate mail to more casual (and swashbuckly) attire to commemorate the change!

If you think EW and 6.1 are slow, go do NG+ ARR if you really wanna experience what story padding was.

It's easy to take for granted how far this game has come with its quest progression, but not until you do NG+ and realize what the game used to be.

Yes, hence why I knew Meteion was the cause of everything and as a result viewed her as little more than a science experiment gone wrong because that's all she really amounted to.

My only problem with 6.1 is that I thought the Scions were supposed to be disbanded and we'll meet some new characters ands tuff. Nope, we got back together not even one patch after we disbanded. Just so we could pretend we disbanded. Like what was the literal point of disbanding in the first place? That never needed to happen. Like if you want more scion screen time, fine. I don't mind. But don't bait us with the whole "we disbanded and went separate ways" when in reality we never did.

I still wish 2 scions would've died, one when zenos takes over our body another at the end. (AT LEAST)
