Housing Lottery Restoration System Question?

So my question is that if you're trying to restore the lottery for people who were in a lottery with a result of "0" to provide a player winner instead will everyone of those players then get their plot for free?

They have already picked up their gil & everything from the placard but now they will just be able to get their plot for free after a new winner of those participates in that lottery is announced?

That's kinda unfair if that's the case for those who won without a bug especially for FC's that had several 1 player participate. Did you think about how to proceed with that to make it fair?

No no no, will likely (and could be most wrong) default to state where you are allowed to claim the plot.

If you did not withdraw funds then you are good to go!

If you did withdraw funds you will be asked to deposit for the land as you normally would when purchasing a plot.

People who withdrew will not be getting their plot for free.

SE said quite specifically they are still deciding what to do, it could be as simple as a dialog we had with FCFS when you won, pay $45,000,000 to purchase this plot". They have the code for this already after all, we used it for years.

The people who spent their refund though, will likely be out of luck, as they can't pay the money, they will need to forfeit their win.

But, I am quite certain there won't be any free housing. That's just a whole pile of butt-hurt and salt waiting to happen.

That won't happen. Those who claimed their refund, but won the plot will undoubtedly still have to pay for it. We have to wait to hear how they are going to handle the previous results, but that is something that will undoubtedly be addressed when the notes come out.

It's a valid concern to have though. If players took the refund, and have since spent enough gil to no longer be able to afford the plot. That would be unfortunate indeed.

Counter-argument: The number of these cases (retrieved refund, spent gil) may likely be very small, and devs may as well give them their plot anyway purely for compensation for this disastrous implementation.

However, kinda seems unlikely that anyone trying to enter the housing market would so quickly dump all their funds after losing one lottery.
