Could just treat the role quests as canon and have Taynor involved in things at some point. Kind of like how CT was treated before they decided to make it mandatory? And... I dunno. Explain it as time dilation btwn shards? lol You'd have to limit Taynor to either travelling to the source or only being spoken to via a communication device or something across the rift, so that when the player goes to the First, it makes sense that he's not a thing for them still. It'd be convoluted, but maybe doable.
