Frintlines needs an AoE cap: Redux

Slowly but surely, classs stacking is becoming a thing in frontlines. Namely, stacking SMN or DRG or even SCH to stack LB/Bio on close clusters of groups. The answer is "just don't stand in a group," but the maps just aren't designed for that. And naturally, a party of 4 can queue in together to coordinate where they will mass drop their LBs to completely wipe out an alliance in a second.

I mean with enough WHM you can do the same thing.

10 Scholars recite deploying Bio will deal 45000 damage every 3 seconds to everyone in an enormous area, as big as a Bahamut limit break. You will die in the time it takes to use standard elixir. Also, every one of those Scholars is getting an assist so now you have an army of battle high scholars killing you in 3 seconds with a 15 second DoT effect. Thing is, most of the time you're only dealing with 1 SCH dealing negligible damage so it doesn't seem too bad.

Those same SCHs, in anticipation of a point battle fight, can all use Seraph to get excog, making them exponentially harder to burst down with a SMN army too.

Frontlines was very definitely not balanced around the PvP revamp.

Shatter in particular seems like it would be miserable to do as melee with how much incidental AoE the ice is going to be getting spammed with now.

Yeah, the stacking because of no AoE cap makes some games silly.

    One SCH is merely annoying.

But people can queue as a full 4 SCH, which seems to be becoming a frequent tactic, at least on Aether datacenter.

Jobs that need to be in Melee range to... you know... do anything therefore have a choice: do nothing, or die to 45000(? apparently? it's enormous, whatever the total is) damage worth of dot ticks from constant 3-4x Recitation Deployment Biolysis spam, all requiring very nearly zero effort or risk from the SCH, and occurring in a ridiculously-large radius.

There's a lot of comical imbalance in the PvP Jobs right now, but stacked Scholars is making daily Frontlines incredibly unpleasant, if not nearly-unplayable for some Jobs, especially at stacked objectives like Interceptor Nodes or Ice Tomeliths.

Summoner at least takes some time to charge up, has a huge telegraph, and gives you some time to escape the area after the initial hit.

Once a pack of Scholars gets on you, you're basically just patiently waiting to die.
