The only class that I could find myself tolerating this game for, Samurai, has been gutted in the most mind-blowing "Who thought of this, who asked for this, who approved this decision" process I've ever seen. All my abilities feel incredibly monotonous (I mean they all kinda..... don't vary that much in damage), or at least I'm perceiving it this way.
Before with Kaiten it was very distinct and impactful, as well as with old potency values, that your abilities were flowing seamlessly into one big hit. Now, for some cosmic reason, they've decided to decimate the potency on these abilities, but then also make them guaranteed hits. All your generators hit just so slightly harder, but then with your big hit crits being so..... dwarfed nowadays, what does that matter. What sense does this make. Reduce crit variance? Who cares? Why not reduce crit variance on any other class in the game, why not remove crit all together to "reduce crit variance". The feeling or flow to the rotation is just absent.
Kenki is UTTERLY useless now that you don't have Kaiten as well. I'm not gonna pretend like managing your kenki was some great skill or hurdle. But the absence of Kaiten begs the question, why make the Hissatsu abilities cost Kenki at all. They might as well have put Shinten and Kyuten on a shared cooldown, since all you do is either spam either/or depending on the number of targets. Gyoten and Yaten are so cheap they might as well not cost anything. Guren and Senei, I don't know, make them a combo action after every x amount of Shinten/Kyutens cast, they switch into their bigger hit variants? Kenki doesn't feel relevant if you don't have Kaiten to actually eat up a chunk of the bar/being reserved for a Midare or an Ogi Namikiri.
I don't understand the guaranteed crit changes if I'm honest, I don't understand the decision, or thought process, to remove kaiten, and I sure as hell don't understand how whoever designed, suggested or implemented/approved these changes couldn't take a moment to sit down and really feel them out. Cause they sure as hell don't feel tested with this much feedback going in the forums.
TL;DR Samurai is boring, uninspired, and it slightly saddens me to see these changes come through.
