Personal Housing limited by account but alt characters unable to use items.

I am one of those that have multiple characters on my account. I am not permitted to purchase a home with each character which I 100% agree with.

However, what I do not agree with is that if housing is account-based, why is it that my alt characters can not be given rights by my main character to utilize the house as they like.

Also, why can I not mail items from my main character to my alts? This is the first MMORPG that I have played that has those kinds of limitations and I must say it is a real pain in the behind.

If housing is per account and we cannot purchase homes on alts. Then we should be able to grant our entire account access to the house and they should be able to use any of the items in the house. As it is now I can grant access to my home to anyone, and I can give access to use items to certain people.

And while I do not currently own a home, I do plan on getting one soon. *fingers crossed on that one I know*

Just for the future, I'd love to be able to share items between all my alts without having to go thru a friend and inconvenience them with the hassle of doing transfers for me. Just being able to mail items would be a huge help, but so too would the access to housing when I do get it.

This is a common complaint. There was a "glitch" a few years ago where you could use a delayed logout to friend request your own alt on the same account but they unfortunately patched it

Being able to mail and share a house with your alt is such a QoL - I genuinally just don't know why they don't allow this.

It's really ridiculous. Using the house should be account wide. And it's not just the trouble getting to the house but the fact that when you get there you can't interact with it in anyway.

The mail thing was for RMT reasons I think, but yeah, not being able to share a house with alts is silly.

There is the tenant system, they really should make it possible to add your own characters as tenants to your own hose.

I think alt characters on the same world ought to just have inherent tenant rights, period, without having to eat up a tenant slot. The house should show up on their teleport list, they should have the same decorator rights et al as a tenant would, and so on.

I've made the same observation before as OP -- as have maaaaany other folks -- and it really seems like such a straightforward QoL issue. When I'm on as my raid-alt in a PF group and want to go check on the garden at my house... oops, I can't even teleport there, because I don't have my main alt on my friends list to use Estate Teleportation! I have to remember which ward it is and go there manually. (Or I have to bounce from the PF, log in my main, go water the plants, then switch back.)

IMO I had thoughts that the personal home and retainers should have been a shared by all characters on the same world from the start. For housing the character that made the purchase would be the owner but alts would auto register as tenants. In regards to retainers there's 2 reasons I feel like we should have gotten up to 2 free per account per world with additional purchasable via subscription options from mogstation. 1. It makes the game more Alt friendly as we'd be able to store things on a retainer and access it from any of the characters on the account. 2 has to do with the retainer naming system that appears to require retainers to have unique names on their world and does not give a space for a family name like player characters.

100% agree with op, this game is bizarre that characters cant share anything... its really off.

Sharing housing would be a great start!

Then allowing mail between characters is a must (no glitch just allow !!)
Many more bits should be shared but houses and mail imo , would be a realistic and very COMMON thing for games to have.
