    Do I really have to Guard for Turbulence hazard?

    So far it's the only way I know how not to take half my health for no reason. This hazard is pretty lame and does not add to fun at all.

    Do I really have to use an essential CD to dodge a stage hazard? Is there a way to prevent Turbulence? I really really do not like this mechanic.

    Guard it, or save some MP to heal through it. If you won't get focused on landing, having guard when no one else does can, in some niche situations, have its uses.

    ...That said, I don't really feel its as well designed as The Volcanic Heart, no. Much more interesting opportunities to bait or CC people on that map. That said, it has its uses - aoe stun just before turbulence can be fun. My least favorite would be the Palaistra. It's just such a boring map, nothing environmental to play around or turn to your advantage at all.

    There's another way, but the timing is kinda tight.
    There are some small (Chocobo?) markers moving around the arena. If you stay in one when the turbulence starts, then you'll receive no damage at all from that hazard.

    Guard it, grab a choco circle, or stay out of enemy LoS and heal up when you land.

    I recommend the last option whenever possible.

    Pay attention to which enemies blow their guard and prioritize them when you re-engage.

    I've had middling luck with those. It seems most of the time I stand in those circles, I get knocked up, graze the feather thing... and it doesn't do anything. Then I take the 30k damage.

    There are the Chocobo feather points but even those are random if you will get the buff and not take damage. Server ticks are awful and will make you just go through the feather in the sky without picking it up

    I'd have prefered that they had focused on the quality of the core experience rather than adding those environemental hazard gimmicks.

    Make sure that the core gameplay is fun and solid with just the objective and a static map first
    If you feel you have to add this stuff to make the game fun it means that the core experience isn't good enough.
