housing with a controller is impossible

I've been banging my head against a wall for days. Even "non-glitch" basic placement of items on shelves/walls is like pulling teeth. Can't put a small item in a niche shelf. Cant raise a loft without it fanging about the place and never going anywhere near where I want it. Camera angles are attrocious and half the time the only thing you can see is the back of your head, not the item.

and as for the "glitches" they never work at all. I must have watched 20 videos by now and not a single one has helped. Impossible to detach a window/curtain/blind/whatever from a placement panel so it will "float". Impossible to rotate a floated item to keep it in place.

The entire system is one huge pile of frustration. It just should NOT be this $%^$#@$ difficult to put a few items where you want them.

Weird, I've decorated my house on PS4 just fine with a controller. The only annoying part I can think of is selecting specific placed furnitures that you want to move/spin because you have to go down the list of placed furnitures 1 by 1 using X on each until the one you want to select is highlighted, specially annoying when you have like 100 of the same partitions placed. But other than that, it seems fine to me and I've managed to clip stuff without problems. O.o

I do better with my controller, EXCEPT for when doing complex things. I feel your pain, but wish I could do those complex housing tips WITH a controller more often. I just can't stand the PC layout. I prefer PS5. It's just my style of doing things.

I get that trying to place tapletop items on high shelves, the camera angles don't seem built for it.
It only works if you can see the surface of the shelf you're trying to place it on (a bottom-up view won't work) but then you need to be able to actually get the item up there at that angle. It's a bit like rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time.

Put everything in the shelf the way you like it ....then move the whole shelf<< I've found this to be the most effective way of dealing with that particular issue.

I decorated my entire house on PlayStation...

It's not a great system compared to other games, but it's far from impossible. You just have to get used to it.

It's definitely difficult, but not impossible.

I found when trying to get something onto a shelf/top of one of the display cases/other items, it's easier to turn the camera to a top down view. Once you place the item on the shelf/whatever, then you can position it a from that same top-down view.

The only way I can effectively do housing glitches is by using a controller. I also need a controller to turn items while I move them around. I use a mouse and keyboard and controller, all three, to do housing though. One tool won't cut it.

And yes, I agree, the whole furnishing placement system is a disaster. Bad camera angles, character gets in the way, can't place things anywhere on the Y Axis. It's just bad.
