    I'm sorry but there's a clear difference between people needing help and, in turn, getting it and assuming someone is incapable of handling something without assistance. It's patronizing to do so and strips people of their agency. Yes we appreciate the devs hard work and mistakes happen but you know what? You don't need to elevate people into a state where they can do no wrong.

    EDIT: Since I feel it needs being said, y'all should not be conflating "softening the blow" with helping because softening the blow is closer to coddling which is not helping it is actively harmful. I am saying stop infantilizing the devs and acting like they cannot handle criticism. I have not condoned insulting or wishing harm upon others anywhere. If I am coming off as aggressive because I am telling you to stop treating others like children when they aren't children then so be it. Seriously, the whole time my thought process is I know the dev team can do better and if this upsets them then I hope they take the lesson to heart and it helps them do better. Please do not conflate me saying you do not need to soften the blow for adults to me saying you do not need to help adults.

    This exactly. Yes, it should not have made it through QA, but it'll be fixed and resolved. In 10 years of a game running like this, something is bound to go wrong and very little ever slipped through SE's QA before covid started. Before then, I had never seen a single bug in years of playing. I saw them get fixed but I had never experienced any and I was really impressed.

    I don't agree with the "they're full grown adults, they don't need your help" either. Who would want to work at a company where their customers are always negative to them? Respect goes both ways. They show it to us and it is important to show it back or why would they want to keep working there? I would be saying this even if Yoshi-P hadn't recently mentioned about the tone of forum posts in the JP forums, but that adds to my point.

    Further thoughts below.

    Frustration and disappointment are understandable! If you've simply been voicing your dissatisfaction with the situation, that's perfectly fine.

    I've been playing this game since 2014, and this was the first time ever that I had a real opportunity to buy a house -- and it was a guarantee, too! But I was met with the big fat "0". It was disappointing, but life goes on!

    What I was more concerned with was the reality that a lot of good, hard-working SE employees were having a very rough weekend. I can only imagine what internal finger pointing and arguments have been taking place, and what incredible stress is being put on this team who just wants to make something fun for all of us. The last thing they need is me berating them, accusing them of being "incompetent, lazy developers" and acting like I somehow know more than they do about the situation.

    I've seen first hand what it looks like when a company as big as SE has a weekend emergency. I've watched the life drain from the eyes of my own friends as they sat there on call at unholy hours of the morning trying to pinpoint and resolve issues like these.

    I will not be reading or replying to any comments.
    I really have no care to read what's said in response to this, about me or the devs.

    Square don't make games for charity, they demand money every single month and will lock you off the game immediately and demolish your house even if they don't release content or make new events etc ( Genshin Impact its billion times better than FFXIV in terms of events and creativity sometimes they even stack 2 major events in one month FOR FREE while SE can only provides the same reused events with nothing of value ).

    They are a company. Yes they are made of people and anyone that harasses them is a deplorable idiot, but..

    You pay money for a service. You should have the right to criticize their actions without them being emotional everytime someone calls them out on their BS.

    Do you even know how intelligent these companies are? Even grocery stores have their methods to make you buy more. Don't be a damn fool.

    The game is NOT perfect, us longer standing players have seen that time and time again. But this is the most sincere dev team and they don't deserve personal attacks.

    People have warped definitions of what constructive criticism means. Thank you for this post OP. Glad to see we're not all crazy here.

    Good luck devs on fixing this and if possible, please give us some insight into your long standing plans for housing. At this stage, it feels as though physical wards aren't sustainable and everyone paying the same sub, should have access to the same features.
