    It's more of a gradation rather than a simple "don't like it don't use it". The loss of not using Kaiten and using it on Shinten instead was only a handful of potency per minute, while spamming Cure I is straight up ignoring the rest of the kit. Where that line between "unacceptable play" and "acceptable play" is will vary from person to person and party to party. I'm not gonna yell at someone for parsing green, even if that's a sign that they're not playing their job particularly well. As long as the Samurai is doing above tank levels of damage in casual content I won't complain.

    Hence the qualifier of "and didn't care that you'd be doing less damage". If you do want to do top damage, then use everything in the kit to its fullest, otherwise complaining about it sounds like you want the rewards without the same effort. Stupid animation is also highly subjective and most of Samurais kit has over the top unrealistic animations made based on anime/pop culture tropes.

    Plenty didn't expect Kaiten to come back, but what we see is also not really an improvement either. We were expecting the meme's to happen which it did...

    - Extra Ogi Namikiri Slash
    - 4th Eye prediction, we got upgraded 3rd Eye
    - New Midare well its a New animation
    - Probably no Kaiten, and that's also true

    Reading the Dev's like a book. We already know what's coming. I already don't even need to look at the WAR changes and its probably more Fell Cleaving. There's also this change...



    Idk who asked for more simplification but it's more so seeing how this will work out for AoE Samurai feel. This doesn't look like an improvement either it even looks unnecessary but it shouldn't change Samurai to much. They did mention Guren / Senei faster recast timer trait? but again wait and see

    Overall Conclusion? not impressed, I don't see anything that improves the Job so far in terms of Gameplay. All we get to see so far is Samurai being more sparkly. For some that might be a win I guess.

    it's amazing that the developers can unironically say this. and in the mean time they simply triple down on simplifying everything? what does that say about their supposed reworks then, i sincerely doubt that they are going to go on a complete one eighty from this current philosophy.

    Sam looks worth a try in DT for me, the only thing I dislike is the new animation for Midare Setsugekka! Yoshi P said they wouldn't change something so good as Fell Cleave but I feel Midare Setsugekka falls in the same category!! It's a clean and satisfying animation and the new one feels a bit messy.

    What if I told you this was a smokescreen and we can look forward to 3 more years every single bit of criticism being stonewalled by "well the devs said they'd fix that in 8.0 so shut up" and then nothing is fixed.

    Because that's about how it has worked so far whenever we get a shit-sandwich of a job design that's supposed to be a base for future improvements.

    They can though. The new combo system where buttons are tied together paired with shoha being merged into one ability for single target and aoe on top of meikyo + tsubame being linked making drift less likely to occur create the opportunity for the devs to add far more to the kit. They have to see how these systems are received and give us time to adjust to the new way the game is played, but there are a ton of keybinds freed up now. It is safe to say that the button bloat problem in this game is solved, which means they can add more to the kit without bloating it.

    I agree. I do not like the new midare at all. It's actually gaudy even if you ignore the 3 swords in the animation.
