It's what I've said to people about samurai, and why it's boring to me. You just need strong fundamentals to play the job and there's very little optimization you can do. Because as long as you're active, you're doing damage. If a button's lit up, just hit it. Don't do the same combo twice in a row. Make sure you use an iaijutsu when you have the resources for it.

If samurai gets reworked into something better, I'll definitely be happy. But I just don't see why they felt the need to break it in the now, when we're playing with it. It's just such an odd decision to make. But on an unrelated note, I decided black mage was worth learning, since it's a job that very rarely gets any nerfs and is often explained immediately why there were changes and the purpose of them.
