Thread: Compiled SAM threads against 6.1 changes / Kaiten removal

Alright “Alphinaud” so speaks the volume of those (presumably on your side of “Kaiten” spectrum) that utterly retaliated in the first place due to having a different set of opinions that otherwise are content with the way how SAM is.

You certainly are no different than the whole lot let alone this OP. It’s tiring with the constant labelling of “Troll/Speciment/Not know the job” all while amounting a wall of messages as a display of your ego-centric intellect in the matters of degrading just about anyone.

Then again this is also becoming an entertainment hub in which more individuals are displaying their true colours as I admittedly have with mine’s.

Surprisingly this post hasn’t been taken down yet which should in the first place.

Yes, because people should just nod their head, smile, and say thank you whenever someone strolls up to them saying "shut up, your opinion doesn't matter because I think differently from you."

I may have engaged once or twice at you specifically with annoyance or anger, but aside from those I've tried to remain civil and open minded.

Respectfully, I disagree with those who say SAM is better off without Kaiten. Most cases they give no real reason why it's better or simply say it was 'boring' rather than looking at the kit as a whole and what it means for that.

But if you or anyone else has a valid reason about the way the job plays differently because of it without resorting to "I suck and don't want to try" then I will listen and nod and think "ok, this guy has an actual opinion"

Otherwise, yes, just attacking others with "shut up, you're annoying, your opinion doesn't matter" is going to get flamed as a response because that's all it is. It isn't constructive, and just comes across as being generally mean. Ergo, people will respond in anger back, typically.

Maybe the trolls have a point. Kaiten was useless bloat.
Sens are also useless bloat. I mean, you're just gonna use them all in the same way anyway, who cares. Remove them.
Kenki gauge too, well you're always gonna expend it in the same way. Might as well remove it.
Get rid of all but one of the combos as well. You're always gonna have your buffs up, who cares, this is just lowering the skill floor!
Might as well get rid of the cooldowns, you were just gonna press them whenever possible. Artificial complexity!

When does it stop? Will every job that the developers don't personally play end up becoming White Mage?

And truly, WHO is this pleasing? (annoying trolls don't count) If the entire game goes to a single player focus, I would STILL want a more in depth class. I'd still want it to be interesting, to feel FULL. I'd want Kaiten. I don't want a class to be easier so I can get into high end content, which I don't really want to do anyway. I want to enjoy my rotations, my abilities, the FEEL of the class, in every single thing I do.

I don't want single player games to be dumbed down, either.

Bring back Kaiten! I don't want to feel - as someone brilliantly said here somewhere - like I've somehow forgotten my soul crystal!

Players who don't want to learn to press 2 DPS buttons but still want to perform on the same level as people who can clear enrages in minimum ilvl savage.

Will they actually go play savage when optimal DPS will require zero braincells? No.

Speaking for myself, if I had only 2 buttons to push, I'd still manage to get killed by something, so I think those players hope in vain. Also, I'd prefer to make myself better rather than the game simpler. But I know you're right. Sad, but true!

This thread is 99% REVERT SAM (Agreed btw) and 1% people who don't have sam past LVL 50 trying to sound smart. It's very obvious where the majority stands. REVERT SAM 6.08 THE CLASS WAS FINE. I already took the shitty AOE spam off my hotbar and onto the ground where they belong. I don't do casual content. I only need single target. There goes half the "button bloat" Get real SE.

im gonna bump this for visibility. i loved Kaiten, though i'd only barely reached 90 with it before its' death. it was just a fun little swoosh/swoosh, and the animation genuinely seemed to mix incredibly well with the sheathed sword of the 3 sen move whos' name i forgot.

i genuinely hate playing the class now, and though I've leveled a few others since, nothing seems to fill that void.

I was gone for a bit, apparently I have been lets say " blunt and straight forward " with my posts. Resulting in a certain functional button being ganked up upon resulting in my... untimely... absence. I'll try to update it again as much as I can with the recent posts and threads being made.
