Yeah, and I didn't say that they would. One of the biggest questions coming out of the initial response was for players that had already pulled out their refunds before the devs announced the result window would be extended. This at least confirms the devs are aware of the concern and that the players who did take their refund "early" are not SoL

"These logs will be referenced to ensure that players who have accepted their gil refund from losing the lottery will not be negatively affected by the measures we will be taking afterwards."

No atm all that means people will recieve their gill back. NOT that they will recieve their house.

Call me a pessimist but saying that people who already took their gil out won't be negatively affected means, to me, that they're going to let people enter again on these houses in the next cycle. Because I have my doubts they'd make a system where someone could win and THEN pay for it. Otherwise they could have people who took out their ~50m gil entry rolling with people who still paid 50m gil.

So in other words, sounds like the next round will have way more competition.

I am tentatively optimistic with this announcement, but I will personally be bearing in mind that any attempted fixes might still be suspect. I hope the fixes will actually undergo QA and bug testing, something that the lottery system was not subject to. If they somehow fuck this up again, this is all this newfound adventure patch will be remembered for, if not already.

This is ffxiv housing afterall. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

That... isn't at all what that means. Are you okay? "people who have ACCEPTED THEIR GIL REFUND FROM LOSING" on those 0'd out plots won't be affected. It doesn't say people who CAN'T CLAIM their refund.

You are being way too optimistic about this, it's speaking from a gil standpoint that people will receive their refund back, it doesnt say anywhere people will get the houses they didnt get due to the issues, if it does please pinpoint as to where, because I dont see it.

They wont be affected because they got their GIL back, not the houses.

You're not a pessimist. It means the same to me.

Because why would they not just say "we have logs, the house will go to the actual winner just be patient while we fix it?"
Why all the explanation about what happens to the people who took their gil back....? If the house was going to the real winner, all the gil goes back and nobody would be rolling on the plot so who cares?

I'm reading it exactly how it's portrayed to the public. Has nothing to do with optimistic. If it was about giving gil back. It'd say "If you could not receive your gil from a losing plot, we will ensure it gets to you". But instead it's actively saying that those who HAVE accepted will not be effected.

    Tldr

    1) Winners keep their plots
    2) If you took out your gil because you thought you lost it is ok, they have all information in logs. From this we can conclude if you were the only one who bid, you will get your plot as they know you bid even though you removed your money.
