Nothing very interesting in that post, aside from some explainations about what happened which is welcome, no infos about what will happen following the "fix" though, if the people who won will get their house or not, I would personally assume that wont be the case but who knows.
I said this in another thread, but I know it sounds very minor and it doesn't say much. At the end of the day, we still don't know what really happened, and we still don't know what fix they will implement.Nothing very interesting in that post, aside from some explainations about what happened which is welcome, no infos about what will happen following the "fix" though, if the people who won will get their house or not, I would personally assume that wont be the case but who knows.
But one thing is to be made clear. They did show transparency about how their code works and admitted they have lottery logs. So a fix can be implemented quite easily from them, and it does show that the dev team listened to people wanting an explanation out of them that didn't sum up to "hand wave it". Considering how some people were feeling, especially from specific topics, this is honestly a good thing.
Now we just wait. We know they have the tools to fix it, but first we need to know what's up with the code. And until then those plots won't go anywhere.
I suspect that their desire is to award all the rightful winners their plot.Nothing very interesting in that post, aside from some explainations about what happened which is welcome, no infos about what will happen following the "fix" though, if the people who won will get their house or not, I would personally assume that wont be the case but who knows.
They just haven't confirmed with certainty it is feasible. We are talking 10s of thousands of plots if a manual process is needed.
I am tentatively optimistic with this announcement, but I will personally be bearing in mind that any attempted fixes might still be suspect. I hope the fixes will actually undergo QA and bug testing, something that the lottery system was not subject to. If they somehow fuck this up again, this is all this newfound adventure patch will be remembered for, if not already.
This is ffxiv housing afterall. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

It pretty clearly gives the impression they intend to re-roll entries who lost to zero. Which means if you were the only participation, you'll get the house. Additionally, they admit to having logs for all entries, thus players who withdrew their gil won't be screwed. All in all, this is a fairly good response imo.Nothing very interesting in that post, aside from some explainations about what happened which is welcome, no infos about what will happen following the "fix" though, if the people who won will get their house or not, I would personally assume that wont be the case but who knows.

Nice that it at least confirms they have records of who entered even if they pulled out their refund already and that they haven't lost their chance.
That's not what it says though, they simply said they have the records, they didnt say anything will be given to the "winners" of the lottery.
Why would they bother telling us that they have the entries saved if they didn't plan to give the plot to the entry that otherwise won?

Yeah, and I didn't say that they would. One of the biggest questions coming out of the initial response was for players that had already pulled out their refunds before the devs announced the result window would be extended. This at least confirms the devs are aware of the concern and that the players who did take their refund "early" are not SoL
"These logs will be referenced to ensure that players who have accepted their gil refund from losing the lottery will not be negatively affected by the measures we will be taking afterwards."
