    I think achievements should be hard to achieve, its not much of an achievement otherwise.

    Too many game give them away too easily, I think Prince of Persia was the worst I've played for doing it. Congratulations you walked, Congratulations you jumped, Congratulation you spoke to someone, Congratulations you fought someone.

    If its just going to be handed to you over a short length of natural play, it may as well not be there.

    Having a few easy ones to grab people is fine, I like how FFXIV does it with the different stages of achievements, taking Airget's synth example for some values, 50-300-750-1500-3000 synths, the first few will be easy to get if you level the crafting class, so players can feel they're making progress in it, but getting the full thing completed will take a lot of effort.

    If you find them too time consuming and the rewards lacking, there's nothing forcing you to do them.

    Also, it should be considered that a lot of these achievements will be aimed at long term play for a MMO. Designed to be completed by people playing for years, not just a few months. 100,000,000 from bodies may be a lot now, but with 5-10 years play should be more achievable.
