I think I ended up polymorphing a SAM out of Zantetsuken, but that seems incredibly cheesy.

At higher ranking people get skilled and start using addon to instant polymorph SAM/MCH whne they use their LB.
Currently in Diamond, the amount of instant Polymorph I've seen on me is outstanding when initiating a Snipe. People are so good I'm just impressed, like 0.1s after pressing the button I'm polymorphed.

A NIN can be killed before the damage from their LB goes off (it's at the end of the animation), so yes, yes it can.
