Well, I am kind of new to this whole housing thing and I have to admit. This whole new housing area launch has kind of gone up in flames, I am sure it was like this for the other ones... maybe? But I was just wondering, why does it have to be so fair that everyone has to compensate for the weakest link?
The five day entry times, the set lottery dates. Why not just 1 day lottery entry times and four days to collect, with the four days being a background timer that doesn't affect the 1 day entry timers. Sure some people can't play every day, I know I can't at least. But I am not going to get mad at people and bring them down to my level just so I can have a chance at my dream plot. Housing to me has always been something I might try when I have the time and want to put the effort into, but now it is something that I don't want to do because I feel like it is a bit... tainted? It just feels less valuable, especially since this was tailored to people like me who can't play every day.
I think it should just be when a house is demolished, it goes on sale for a day like the old system, so people who want a house can try and put effort into checking every day and getting their dream house and I can just swing by every now and then bid on whatever is left over.
However I don't feel like it can be this easy since well... it would be implemented right?
Some pros I can think of are:
-Less time for a insanely large amount of bids to amount on a single plot, which will be a problem when housing becomes less available
-More chances to attempt getting a house
-Less people upset each time a house is won, this system is kind of just set up to upset the max amount of people.
-House hunting becomes a thing again except there is no time investment in clicking, you just check the plots once or twice a day, it is a guaranteed 24 hour period, so check once a day and you'll be fine.
Cons:
-People who don't play every day can't get their dream house
-Maybe some kind of server issues with so many different things going on?
-A lot of work in rewriting already buggy code
I'm sure there are more cons, but I would just like some kind of discussion about it, please don't use hateful words towards the devs or other people. I personally feel this is fair for the majority rather than the weakest links.
