Well some definitely do struggle with the idea that their viewpoint is not the only viewpoint to be had, and anything contradicting said viewpoint is either toxic positivity, or white knighting.

This thread is going to look so weird when that clown gets banned and all his posts are removed...
ffxiv community go REEEEEE!!!!
Been less then 24 hours sorry your death threats are not going to fix the situation faster
While some people could do well to temper how they present their reactions, all the people acting like the frequent screw-ups are "no big thing" are doing far more damage to the health of the game.
Man if only the real world were so nice. "Oh it's okay, I don't mind that you put out a mediocre product, oh no by all means change a product for the worse and then ignore feedback on why we no longer like that product, please I insist"Hello all!
I am new to posting here and I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this but I feel its necessary to be said regardless. I've seen quite a lot of heated discussions about the player housing situation and a few other past events where players have felt slighted or in some way inconvenienced and overwhelmingly people have been voicing their frustrations in a way that seems a tad overkill. Frustration is one thing but calling devs names or being hysterical about this or any situation does nothing but cause real people to be stressed out. I know we often laud the dev team and Yoshi-P especially but the opposite can be true too. Very bi-polar which is to be expected from such a large MMO audience.
I hope people who read this can voice their frustrations more gently and constructively in the future. I'm sorry you were inconvenienced but this is a game that you enjoy and its a career that game devs slave at to make. the disparity between our commitments is immeasurable. They want to make the best game they can and believing otherwise is foolish. I don't mean this to be another "praise Yoshi-P!" post so please understand that I just think our collective voices when compounded have a very drastic effect on real people and we should act accordingly.
TL;DR stop being mean pls
Alright, I'm sorry but this thread is making me roll my eyes so much I honestly fear they'll fall right out.
"DEATH THREATS, YOU GUYS NEED TO STOP DEATH THREATS-OK SO BUT YOUR DEATH THREATS-"
Every single time someone starts screeching about getting death threats, what they actually mean is 'this person is saying things I dont like' which thats fine, its perfectly normal to not like criticism, but all criticism does not equal a threat upon your very life like youre going to walk out and get jumped within days now. It does not. It does not, and I'm sick of playing along like it is. True to my word, I've been absolutely perched in all of these threads from here, to reddit, to twitter and not even once have I seen someone make a threat upon anyones life over it, let alone the devs. Not even once. Not even one person did it. Ok.
All people are doing are voicing their concerns/grievances. Ok.
Companies actually need this. I dont know if any of you are aware of that, but in order for companies to thrive, they NEED negative feedback. Alright. They NEED actual feedback, otherwise they continue thinking everything is just fine and only take their mistakes further. It's like having a relationship. A true relationship is built on true and honest communication. You can't keep giggling and pretending everything they do is cute. You can't. So, this idea that "OH the people work SO hard and you people complaining need to just stop" Do you know how many past MMO's had people parrot exactly this only for it to become a complete wasteland? Do you really think XIV is immune from that fate too? Do you?
Of course no one's lives should be threatened. Which works out, because that isnt what's happening anyway. So you can relax with that. Pretty sure the only "death threats" I've read were from the Japanese playerbase. Which also is not us. But if it is, then please stop. But also, please stop insinuating that these grown men and women at their jobs somehow don't deserve actual feedback and should be left alone to continue doing things that the community at large doesnt like all because of some weird obsession with infantizing and protecting them that you may have. You can love somebody and tell them the truth-in fact, that is actually what you are supposed to do. Tell them the truth. and the truth is, they screwed up royally. So they need to know that and from as many players as they can, otherwise they'll think nothing of it and carry onto the next thing completely oblivious to what's wrong/going on. Again. "death threats" bad, but feedback is always good. Don't mix the two over personal bias reasons.
People need to stop using WoW as an excuse. It just doesn't work anymore!
People like you always use "death threats" like some kind of shield against all criticism. One random guy issuing a death threat (if it even happened) or cursing at a developer doesn't suddenly invalidate the other 99.9% of people constructively criticizing them for issues.
