    They made the wrong change for button bloat.
    Why did shoha 2 need to happen? why couldnt it just upgrade shoha 1 to an aoe?
    Why doesnt the 90 ability (the name escapes me) be a combo action of the kenki generator?

    There is ways to reduce button bloat on same without deleting a fun ability

    They're bad and universally disliked with few people that are okay with it at best. If you don't play the job a lot you likely won't care, but it's caused a lot of people to switch off. There's plenty of posts in the DPS section outlining and explaining what exactly is wrong with what they changed.

    Also, they created the problem themselves. Removal of Hagakure's original function changed it's consistent DPS. Addition of Tsubame-gaeshi and even further the trait enhancements to Meikyo Shisui and Tsubame-gaeshi have created the very problem they are trying to address. They were badly designed skills/traits and Tsubame-gaeshi was always jank. The back and forth between "Pure DPS" and "Consistent DPS" or whatever else term YoshiP wants to make, they've always just done a 180 and we've dealt with it. Only this time they ripped out a skill that was fundamental to how base Samurai operates, without offering anything to replace it. The reasoning was also poor, and everyone is currently waiting on the promised response from the Patch note reading.

    All in all, they're doing a wonderful job making every single job hate them. Except Black Mage.

    The buff was renamed simply because it can come from multiple sources.

    Rather than Jinpu potentially coming from Mangetsu and Shifu from Oka (???), both Jinpu (Gale, but literally Militant Wind) and Mangetsu (Full Moon) simply grant Fugetsu (Wind and Moon), and both Shifu (Knight/Samurai Wind) and Oka (Cherry Blossum) grant Fuka (Wind and Blossum).

    It's really fun. You get a nice gap closer that you can use multiple times in succession, evaporate health with multiple high potency moves at once, and your LB can even wipe out five mobs in a single use! SAM is easily the best it's ever been and it's my favorite DPS job to play.

    The PVE changes suck though, and everyone already knows that.

    My biggest issue was (atleast from what I've read) was that none of these changes were listed in the patch notes. Correct me if I'm wrong. But lately they seem to be far less open with changes they are making.

    I was just leveling Samurai and found Tenka Goken not being a cone to be a problem. There was a really big pull and the circle doesn't actually reach all of the mobs. To stand in the middle of those mobs is to stand in aoe, so the cone was really good and could reach all of them from a distance. It's strange that Tenka Goken became a circle but the initial button you press for aoe is still a cone.

    It’s rubbish. I might be able to let go off kaiten if they didn’t ‘I win’ button midare and ogi. I would rather have the volatility of crits then be useless and have crap synergy with crit buffs. Also who wants to stand still casting an ability that can do less dmg than a kasha/hello sometimes.

    Said it before I’ll say it again controlling RNG is not solution soon enough everyone’s big attacks will be guaranteed crits and once they’ve got round to the last job they will revert all potency changes and have achieved precisely nothing.

    I dislike the changes.

    Samurai used to be about building up to those really big hits. It was the core fantasy of the job. The devs clearly even agreed since Namikiri was buffed shortly after the release of 6.0 when people complained it was just another Midare on a longer cooldown.

    Now both these abilities feel weak, and the feeling of building up to a big attack is simply gone. The rotation didn't really change (I just placed a second copy of Shinten where Kaiten used to be so my muscle memory could just keep doing its thing), and my overall damage hasn't changed either, but something essential was lost.

    I mean, just compare Namikiri to any other jobs with big attacks now; How does it make sense for such a weak attack to still be a two minute cooldown?

    The new Tenka Goken feels even worse. It hits like a wet noodle now, and before I had to think about positioning myself before using it. Now I can just stand in the middle of the action and turn off my brain. I strongly dislike this change. It was just salt in the wound to see Hien use his super large version of the old cone in the latest role quests.

    I hope they revert the changes, or at least restore some potency to our big iconic attacks. Right now they all feel terrible.
