There isn't an anti-cheat that solves the problem of cheating.
There isn't an anti-cheat that solves the problem of cheating.
New World has had continuous exploits, cheats, and dupes from the beginning up to this very day, with the devs unable to stop it at all. What does New World use? Easy Anti Cheat. There are at least 2 pvp addons that tracks cds and player profiles, if you are on Twitch, you can see clips of high elo Crystal players encountering a certain top 10 player using speed hacks now too. It shouldn't be hard to find.
Also there is a certain addon website that makes the better version of 1-2-3 combo addon do a pvp version that will ping you if samurai uses their ability and highlights players that ninjas can 100% execute, and a few other addons in development that shows the aoe radius of certain players.
Its still not too late to add Epic Easy Anti-Cheat to FFXIV, most recent games already use it like Lost Ark and Elden Ring and it gets the job done.
Now google Easy Anti Cheat problems for those two games you listed and while at it go ask on the Steam forums how everyone loves EAC. EAC is notorious for borking games out of nowhere with a million errors codes and EPIC couldn't give two craps. One of the most common errors? Not being able to launch your game after a patch because after every single game patch EPIC has to update EAC for that particular game on their servers ( which EAC connects to constantly ) and many times they drag their butts or just flat don't do it until customers complain to game devs who then have to complain to EPIC.
There were still bots in Lost Ark, not to mention the games atrocious load time
What a weird example to use to sell an idea
In general, if AGS thinks its a good idea it probably isnt
You're using Elden Ring as an example, haha. Is this a troll post? Have you even played Elden Ring? Hey, I can show you a neat trick with your save file and my Frenzied Flame. And it'll get YOU banned. It's really cool.
To say nothing of the incredibly easy way of circumventing it by typing in "lmao 420" or whatever other nonsense in the data file.
It doesn't hurt to think before you speak.
Encourage players to report cheaters, don't add unnecessary bloat onto the client.
It evidently takes more then spamming reports to get action taken as some of the PvP cheaters have been around for years but have been glossed over repeatedly in spite of dozens of annoyed players trying to draw attention to them.
Installing spying bloatware that cheaters can easily bypass to just be able to play a game that has no way to deter cheaters in a game from developers that dont give a crud about the playerbase of the game? Where have I seen that before? *coughEldenRingcough*

Using third party software is a bad thing for FF14. Players who use cheat programs think that for example normal dungeons runs are to easy. Just look to WoW where third party software is allowed, the developers there adjust the dungeons difficulty with all the cheat programs on.
Now the players cannot play anymore without the third party software. I do not like to see this in FF14, but sadly it looks like we are going in this direction.
Normal dungeons *Are* easy, third party software or not, that's not even a discussion point here lolUsing third party software is a bad thing for FF14. either way, EAC does not work, and would only cause more headaches for everyone involved while the cheaters would circumvent and continue cheating
