The bug was identified and those patient enough that left their gil in the plot they won will be able to get their house. The past days of speculation and crazy theories can finally end
Those who didn't wait well. I'm sure Yoshi or someone else will have a fix so that might take a longer time.
However
No matter what people will still be angry. I for one enjoy the neighborhood life of the housing and actively try to make the wards I'm in active. To the people complaining of dead wards, are you actively trying to make friends in the wards? Visit other people's places? Relax and chat in them? Or are you just popping in and out, running past houses and not even looking inside them and seeing their owners designs?
Patient and hard work is rewarded. Instanced housing would ruin the feeling of having an actual spot in the world Eorzea and will negatively affect the RP community as a whole.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with instanced housing in addition to wards. In fact, I believe it's a necessary addition to the game and would personally love being able to upgrade the floor plan of my apartment to that of an existing house. I'd be more than happy to pay the current full price of the ward house of the corresponding size to get this.

Adding actual housing options with interior decorating as ward houses have now to Island Sanctuaries would be an awesome. Hell, I wouldn't even begrudge the money I spent on a ward house if they made actual housing on Island Sanctuaries free for all comers.

Limited number of small apartments.

And because the instance server can't handle it all. It is already running every dungeon/raid/trial that goes on simultaneously, plus all the apartments, private chambers, housing interiors, etc.

And there are those who have tried for years and succeeded. Appartments are a thing but people want more. Maybe islands will solve the instanced housing issue but I bet people still won't like the fix. If people want housing then allow the demolition again. Wards and plots will open.

Do you honestly think half the people posting are going to actively use their housing plot or just make something then rarely visit it ever again loke so many plots in the older districts? If they have been laying for years then they would have a house. Simple as that. From what I'm seeing they want ine when it's convenient for them instead of basically trying to farm a house like a relic weapon or a new raid.

Islands are not instanced housing and Yoshi-P has already said to tone down expectations lol. Apartments are far less to actual houses and isn't even worth the comparison really.

Who are you to say they won't use their houses often? Not everyone uses their homes for RP, sure, but it doesn't mean people actively abandon it. Plenty of people want their own place to decorate, hang out in, craft and hide in, ect.

No one should farm for a house like a "relic weapon or new raid", do you even hear yourself lol. Seriously other games don't even make you do that and it's been stated many, many times how unhealthy it is to be in front of a placard to click, click, click. I don't get why you are against every other system other than the fact that you clicked for hours getting your house and the privilege of having a house over others feels nice.

A neighborhood is a community grouping of people who all equally contribute to a better living area. Log in. Whisper your neighbors. Visit friends areas/fcs. It's not something you just grt without work

Can't whisper someone who is never online when you're online.

Can't make friends to send a mail to contact someone who is never online when you're online.

Not everyone is looking to be social with their housing, either. Do you leave your doors unlocked all the time on your real life home with a big sign in your front yard saying "Welcome! Come in anytime you want"?

Adding in instanced housing will remove the demand for houses and leave more who do want the social experience you describe (not that they are likely to get it when the other owners aren't online at the same time, or if they are they're likely in other zones doing other content).

There is a concern for exclusivity with that. People trying to get into the non-instanced ward to live in. It would be a weird balance but hey if it works it works. I keep saying it but I feel like there are to many stagnant wards bc of the demolishing timer still being on pause

The demo timer has nothing to do with wards being stagnant. They were just as stagnant when the demo timer was active.

Splitting up housing into 240 different locations per world does. There could be 100 other players in Mist right now and I wouldn't see a single one of them because they are not in my ward and I am not in theirs.

Wards are stagnant because the player population for each ward is diluted.
