Or one FC in the Mist owns an entire role play ghost town where there is a bank, grocery store and it’s all empty so one person can roleplay

Yes that sucks, should have been address a long time ago. How ever it hasn't and never will. Later man, you will probably come back cause if you been playing since 2013 and never got a house, you probably didn't care that much about it to begin with.

People are mad about housing, but housing is not the only thing this game has. So yeah, most people will keep being mad, but still keep being subbed cuz they do raid/pvp/RP/whatever.


And yeah, agree that instanced housing should be expanded further instead of adding more housing areas. The core of the current housing system is rotten. Only a completely overhaul that focus on instanced housing will save players from frustration.

I was thinking he looked like johnny cage from mortal combat and wesker from resident evil

But as far as people being upset- everyone has their limit. When it feels like their subscription money isn't being put to good use, it's 100% valid w/e reason they choose to quit - the players that own entire wards only took advantage of a system the XIV team fell short-sighted on for years. No point in throwing money at a game that you don't feel listens to it's community- and I'm just reading the room

Yep, I've cancelled mine. After checking the lottery and seeing that I lost, I logged off for a bit to collect my thoughts. I'm not mad that I lost. Disappointed? Of course. But I was also expecting to lose, and the blow was heavily softened by me already having a house anyway. But after seeing how it was apparently bugged and seeing how they've been handling a lot of other things lately, I have decided to bow out for now. My subscription expires next month. I still have things to do, and I'd rather not waste what time I've got left on my current subscription, but I am a man of my word. If I say I'm going to unsubscribe I am going to. This isn't me trying to bluff them and hoping they don't call it. I am just...disappointed in the dev team I once held to a higher standard. This isn't just about housing for me, but I do consider the housing situation as the thing that pushed me over the edge.

Sorry to hear that - I've always enjoyed reading your posts. You've often been a voice of reason in some crazy threads. But I get it.

As for everyone that got hit with this housing nonsense, I'm just sorry you all got caught up in it. I had several friends who lost their bid, but it was to actual other players. But this lottery is utterly broken and there is no excuse for it. How does the coding get this fubar'd and no one did a thorough QR of it??? This is just stupid. They need to implement real instanced housing option where people can choose and pay for the size house they want and have an instanced yard or something too. Everyone who wants a house should be able to get one.

Pretty much, yeah. Feel free to make intelligent, respectful criticism but if you've felt that the developers are openly lying to you, are completely incompetent, or that the game has been terrible for years now, then you would be better off just leaving. You'd be happier not obsessing over something you don't enjoy and, frankly, that's the only way to truly send the message you feel needs to be sent. You can debate, or criticize, or whine, or rage until the cows come home but as long as you're lining SE's wallet, what reason do they really have to listen to you? And how deeply held are your convictions if you're willing to complain for years but still open your wallet every time the company asks you to?

SE doesn't care about you. They make a video game and you choose to pay or not pay for that video game so, if the game and/or developers are that terrible, then don't keep paying for it.
