Sure, for crafted stuff you can just use the crafting log or the marketboard. Yet why not have it all in one place? What's easier and less time consuming running around looking at the various stores or logs or just going to an inn room hopping onto a bed and using said function? While also not wanting to have to open a different menu to see how things dye together? Or for those times two things are white but not the same shade so you need to fuss around in trying to figure out which other shade of white do you need to make said item(s) to be so your outfit sparkles.

Certainly, if they can do everything in one place then that would be fantastic, although if they can't then I would regard the crafted gear as lowest priority since the marketboard is our current biggest "lots of outfits in one place" resource. If people have crafters levelled then they potentially don't even need to leave the inn room to check it.

From memory, my hierarchy of things to include in Dreamfitting (if they can't do everything) would be:
    - alliance raid and endgame dungeons
    - quest rewards
    - GC gear from the Hunt Billmaster (since they won't talk to you if you're not in that GC)
    - levelling dungeon gear
    - specialty shops (endgame hubs, PVP, Gold Saucer, GC quartermaster)
    - crafted/marketboard

That said, there's definitely still an advantage to the Dreamfitting menu over the marketboard now that I think on it, because it does the neat thing with gathering all the pieces and showing the whole set together.
