Dreamfitting feedback

Firstly I have to say this is a great opportunity to try on items from the online store without having to shout out in a crowded city and hope that someone can link the item. It's great to just be able to browse through all the options and try them on my character.

I would like to suggest a couple of improvements to the system:

1. Expand the collection to include all items in the game, or at least gear that comes from dungeons, alliance raids, quests and other places that can't simply be browsed in a shop.

2. Give an option for all the expandable lists of gear pieces in a set to be automatically open, instead of having to select the set name to browse the pieces.

3. When finished, at the pop-up window "Finish Dreamfitting and wake up? Yes/No" menu, add the option to log out of the game rather than having to go through the unskippable waking-up cutscene just to log back out again.

I would love it if they also allowed you to go straight to the dye menu without the need to try it on in a different window.

Yeah, this would be my first piece of feedback. It's great that you can do it but it's a pretty fiddly system where you should just be able to accomplish the same thing in a single click.

I want to add the fact that the game has no way of linking an item by typing it out ("[Shadowless Gloves of Casting]")to yourself or others actually boggles my mind. I'm not an expert, but shouldn't that be relatively easy to exist via a command plus itemcode/name accessing the item you want to link kind of deal? Like, dreamfitting basically demonstrates that items not being owned are listed somewhere in the data still anyways even if you don't have them yourself.

Again, not an expert. I just play/ed games where being able to link something you don't have in your inventory wasn't even an issue I considered having to think about. It seems kind of heavily outdated that this isn't possible in FF.

Personally, I'm mostly negatively affected by this when grinding a dungeon for literal days to get a certain piece of glam I had to look up with google for how it looks and then, once I got it ingame, I realize it doesn't fit the glam as I imagined since I had no simple way to preview it with the rest of the glam ingame. And no, sorry, running around in Limsa yelling for someone to link an obscure item, hoping someone randomly has it and has the time to link it, is not a pleasing solution.

It's most definitely possible considering there are outside tools that let you do literally exactly that.

Yeah, I'd figure. I also wouldn't mind it that much the way how it is now, if I played on PC and could use tools (assuming addons/plugins?) that technically aren't allowed but noone really cares about being used, I suppose.

However, on console there's literally no real solution for this that I'm aware of and it's a bummer. The implementation of dreamfitting paired with me recently putting glam together and running in the mentioned disappointments of running dungeons for glam that turned out whack just really hit home how annoying the current functionality - or rather lack of it - is to me. So, I came here to look if that topic was already mentioned and just put out my two cents.

I don't know - as mentioned - the ability to easily and quickly link (or to look at something via other ways) that you don't personally own ingame is something that I considered so much of a basic functionality in other games, that I never even gave it a second thought being there.

I would also like to log out from Dreamfitting as well.

Being able to try on every single gear piece in the game would be such a godsend. It would make finding that perfect glam outfit for your jobs much easier. Please add this in SE
