No longer want to play if I can't get a house

That's unfair, housing is pretty damn fun side game, and being unable to participate and not knowing WHEN you'll be able to for a personal property is a big issue. I am thoroughly enjoying pvp and just doing some old collectable stuff atm while waiting for DSR, but at the same time I'd probably unsub if the housing debacle doesn't meet an amicable solution.

If you've been waiting for housing and this happened, I 100% believe unsubbing is a fine response. If you are not deriving joy from something, you shouldn't be paying for it, and one of the best ways to pass on feedback is constructive criticism and your wallet. OP may have done the first privately, but is also doing the second. I'm happy mostly with the game, it's why my sub stays, but I understand others want to pull up stumps.

okay fine you're entitled to your opinion, personally I do not understand why people get so obsessed with housing, but I guess different people like different things. i'll just leave you to it.

Says you started in 2011. It took you this long to come to this decision? Or did you just not want one for years when they were easily available?

I believe, for much of the player-base that's been holding off, it was never about them being easily available. A lot of people were just waiting for Ishgard housing. And now that it's available, ... well, good luck.

Honestly I don't see why people are so worked up over housing. Yeah it's cool to have a place to decorate I guess? Can always do that with an apartment outside of the exterior which is kinda meh for decor anyway with preset walls and roofs or meme appearances.

Maybe it's because I played MMOs like ArcheAge where land ownership actually impacted the games economy and gameplay that makes me not get the uproar over the fashion houses here.

I had a house myself for a while and it was a nice little mini game but at the end of the day the interior was just an instanced space connected to a dead neighborhood that I never saw anyone in.

Why so hostile? I simply stated that I don't get the uproar.

At the end of the day housing is side content that 90% of it is available in instanced apartments. If decorating houses in a game is your true passion, it may be better spent in a game that is designed around it as it's primary feature.

There is such are large group of people that have not been able to get a house since ARR, and you been here since 2021 whining that you didn't get your first shot at one. You will learn to move on and accept housing is rare and unlikely.

What boggles the mind is that an archaic game known as Gaia Online handled the housing system LEAGUES better than FFXIV. You had a whole neighborhood of players but there were several neighborhoods across several channels. Housing was never a Black Friday bloodbath.
