I'm seeing a lot of dedicated xiv fan cope replies in this.
If you're unhappy with the way things are then yes, unsubbing is the answer. It's both for your own sake and because voting with your wallet will always hold power. but at the same time, to those kinda kicking them on the way out...you're only enjoying their misery right now because the population is still big enough for you to not notice them leaving yet. It won't always be like that. One day you'll see the results of people talking about problems, giving up, and leaving and you'll hate it. You'll long for the days when the game was more active. You'll think back to this time and sigh thinking how it all began around there and how you wish you could go back to before it all happened. Xiv players are paying customers. They're allowed to be upset and walk off over anything they'd like.
The whole argument of 'well housing has always been bad!'..you're not listening.
I already have a house so none of this even applies to me, but even I can see what these people are talking about, what they're trying to say.
The problem isnt actually 'I didnt get a house, I QUIT!!!!'
The problem is they were paying and playing for months under the assumption and expectation that this miraculous lottery system would at least be done well. But that's not what happened. They payed for months just to get a "0" bug. They payed for months just to only have a shot with 6 out of 24 wards. They thought it would be 24 wards. Not 6. That was sprang on them at the very last minute. Yoshi actually told us that SOME would be lottery and SOME would be normal, that'd he'd consider that. But he ultimately went with all lottery-so even that was wishywashy. They then even went BACK and put FC only restrictions on ALL the other districts too. So now for these people that lost...their pool has shrank so much its insane. Out of 24 wards in every district, they can only try in 6. This entire situation ultimately cost them more chances than it gave them. It shrunk their possibilities from meh to basically never happening.
So yes, its not crazy that its pushing some to quit. They're not being overdramatic. They're actually being realistic. If you want housing, if thats something you were seriously looking forward to? As of right now, your chances are bleak and you're probably better off just taking a break and seeing if someday they change their mind about it.
