    What We Learned

So my dear community as we've learned no matter what bandaid fix they try its hopeless in this current housing system its going to cause issues like many have stated where rng puts number 0 to the fore front and screws you over to have to agonizingly wait for 4 days before trying it all over again and potentially losing to 0 again.

So with that in mind lets talk about a new system to replace this terrible broken mess of a current system i want to remind you this development team can do it quite easily papa Yoshida can and will twist grandpa SE's arm if needed to fork out the additional resources and money for it.
They quite LITERALLY make instance zones for everything related to ingame so they can do the very same thing for people who want to own their own private land to share with a few friends or to have for themself this neighborhood thing needs to be retired for good and a new thing take its place a just an fair system that fills automatically when all alotted places have been claimed.

We've been talking about replacements of new systems for years. They don't care, they don't listen.

Instance housing would be the only way to actually fix housing, not limit housing so badly that a small % of your player-base gets one. Not a lottery (we've already seen that fall on its face the first week), not FCFS. They can do it how other games have been doing it for years (including FFXI) by instancing it (keep the wards if you want, instance it at the property line of the houses) or create a single ward for neighborhood feeling sake and again, instance it at the property line of the house.

They do it on purpose. It keeps people playing because the demand is high and that means people feel the need to stay subbed to keep their houses. It's a scam that is backfiring as the rest of the game gets more popular.
