I was specifically referring to its effect on the game's direction, though. As in, it doesn't strike me as surprising that the same guy who feigned enthusiasm for the idea of adding a playable bestial race to the game just so happens to have a long history of priortising playing female characters. Or that he was caught off-guard by the request for stubble as a customisation option for male characters when it's been a frequent request by many players over the years.

Or that we somehow get a lot of hyper focus on things like the inclusion of feminine fashion accessories and hairstyles, though the long awaited Hairstyles were widely considered to be a dud.

Ironic that people are calling out your reading comprehension yet clearly aren’t comprehending what you wrote. Proof is in the pudding as they say. Want a prime example of Yoshi being bias towards female things? Just look at the Nier raid. Happy giving everyone a 2b outfit aka incredibly revealing an feminine….yet didn’t give us the male alternative in 9s. That’s just one of many examples too. But yes like you said too, Hrothgar is another big one.

No. Like I said, his opening statement entirely contradicts the statement being made within the second paragraph of the screenshot itself. Once again, it's roleplay.

Yoshida: Pretending to be a girl on the game is unethical. However, roleplay in your character as a female is an acceptable form of roleplay, and one I indulge in
Someone: He's pretending to be a female online.

They're completely contradictory regardless of how you want to view it. But yes, the Lyon hairstyle was definitely a feminine hairstyle, wasn't it? Like, how does your assessment of this person come as a complete contradiction to the statement being made?

Wow…one example. Also my point is in the end, he plays a female character. The bias is prominent especially when there’s numerous examples of feminine stuff getting far more attention than males. The fact it took 8 fucking years just to get a stubble is beyond ridiculous.

By all means I'm willing to create more, but seeing as you're the one going ahead with this nonsense, how about you do a ratio of the all the glamours and gear and hairstyles released in the game in the past 3 years, and categorized them by gender, or what your perception is of feminine and masculine. The feedback depends entirely on how this is being relayed, and what is being relayed onto the developers, or Yoshida himself. Doesn't really matter if those that are supposed to be relaying their feedback aren't doing their job, but whilst we're on this "Wow 1 example". People have been equally asking for Yotsuyu glamour and hairstyle for a very long time. Edit: But nope, can't be done because they generally don't release hairstyles, nor glamour of antagonists. Meanwhile, we get Asahi hairstyle.

Nonsense? Lol. Please. I’ll just point you to 90% of the healer role’s glams. Most of them are feminine robes and outfits. Also Yotsuyu was only shown in SB correct? People have asked for Gaius’ outfit since ARR. People have asked for facial hair since ARR. Also i’m not sure why you added the 9s hairstyle in this list? They at least have a female alternative with 2b’s hairstyle. We didn’t even get a male alternative for 2b’s glam. Also….you literally have a female exclusive antagonist outfit in the form of Edda. Let’s not play this game because it’s objectively true females characters are pandered much more in this game than males. How many yshtola outfits and merchandise is there? Compare that to Thancred who has been out just as long…

It is universally agreed that the hairstyles we've been getting are not masculine enough for male player characters nor are they feminine enough for female player characters. However, more recent additions tend to lean towards feminine with male characters not having any new decent hairstyles since...I believe the FF1 WoL hair? I think?

In any case, males often get the short end of the stick. They have since the beginning, and it especially hurt when Hrothgar released in the state they did while Viera, limited as they were, at least could change their hairstyles at the aesthetician.

Healers and casters have generally always been in the direction of being robes, as is depicted widely across many genres and not exclusive. People have asked for many things, whether between ARR, HW, or SB that's beyond a 5 year disparity at this point. I'm not sure what my glamour has anything to do with this, I have several glamours, both of which are mixed between genders. Furthermore, I have had male characters for just about as long as I have had feminine. One of my alts is a male Viera, even. -- I misundestood this one, apologies - But I'm sorry, they still have the armor sets from the Knights' Round. This is just playing whataboutisms. So why don't you try and pull a different leap in logic with this. Equally your character has a hairstyle which I would deem to be of a feminine nature, therefore you must have some leaning preference towards feminine characteristics. The Warrior of Light has been a staple posterboy for the entirety of the expansion.

But whilst we're on meaningful statistics which have as about as much influence of what is incorporated as much as Yoshida's own personal preference. Your own personal feelings aside the game has a pretty large and overwhelming feminine character-base. This has more influence than the leap in logic that Yoshida cares for feminine exclusively because he elected to roleplay as a feminine character. -- Oh hey look, still no female Hrothgar either.

Here we go again, reading comprehension needs work. I wasn’t saying anything about YOUR specific glamour. I was saying there is a female antagonist glamour in the game already in the form of Edda. So what, hair being long=feminine? No offense but that’s a pretty ignorant stereotype and way of thinking. There’s no leaps in logic here. I’m just pointing out facts. Healers and casters always having robes isn’t an excuse to have overtly feminine ones. Look at cryptlurker robes. Those are still robes but aren’t very feminine. It doesn’t matter if they have a large female character playerbase, by that logic then i guess Hrothgar don’t deserve attention at all since so few people play them. Now of course that would be ignorant thinking but it’s essentially what you’re saying.

Just because there are more female player characters does not justify the sheer lack of options that men have.

In any case, no, that hairstyle is not a feminine one. It is a long hairstyle that is specific to men, reminiscent of how male singers used to wear their hair back in the 80s/70s whenever that era of history was.

Male Viera in general do a good job of portraying the "immortal wood elf" fantasy so of course a decent chunk of their hairstyles are long like that. Naturally I imagine that those of us who like playing those types of characters would like to have long hair that isn't full of daisies and bowties. It isn't beauty salon hair like female Viera have.

Male players by now should have had access to beards and more modern male hairstyles and female players should have, by default, the kinds of "heroine" feminine hairstyles sported by Viera/Au Ra players and should be able to access hair like Venat's by now.
