Because it gives them something concrete to focus on implementing. Saying something like "There should be a message on character creation that says X" helps them more than just "Warn people in character creation". I mean, I still don't entirely understand what all messages you want to have there myself. Do you want to warn people about hairstyles? About hats? The suggestion about availability of races being dependent on expansion is a good one.

A warning message about headgear and hair on these races being limited would be good. I know this issue was fixed recently with 6.1, but prior to that, there also should have been a warning to hrothgar specifically before they created them "You will have to buy a fantasia from the mogstation to change your hair"

Granted, that would have turned people off to it very quickly, but yea a warning about how limited these races are should be present saying something like "Certain headgear will not display" and "Not all hairstyles are available to these races"

Listed below are a few of the features that Yoshi-P provided in the interview:
Player owned island which will receive regular updates
Island begins as a blank canvas
You can place buildings (wording used by translator was, "You can say like, 'Okay, what kind of building do I want to place here? What type of materials do I want to gather? Okay, maybe I want to let my minions run free.'")
Tend to your animals and crops
Expand the territory on your island
Not a competition between players
No pressured / timed content
No high level weapons / gear
This is an area to relax. Also explicitly stated that "you can call over your friends to your island and have a chat with them, you can go and visit your friend's island"
There is "a focus on the house, the garden and the furniture, but you can see this as a bit of a rank higher, there's a bit more broad things in the mix"

I mean, that pretty well gives you a decent bit of information to work with. Sounds a lot like a Harvest Moon type of place.

We're getting our own Islands. We get to expand the island.
We get animals and crops to tend to.
We get to place down buildings. Will we be able to enter them? Maybe, maybe not. It mentions furniture. Doesn't mean it's the same furniture used in the Housing we already have. We could have entirely new furniture pieces to deal with or utilize.

I do believe the folks are getting sick and fing tired of waiting. That's the issue.
When SE says they'll work on it, it'll be a 2 year release aka the next expansion if not LONGER.

They do not dramatically change anything within the expansion, like ever.
It stays terrible and not worked on until forever and it's always half-baked.

We're sick of it and people have been 'playing nice' for far too long now and this is the results.
I'm almost feel like we get trolled sometimes or this is a miscommunication between us and him somewhere.

The main thing that rubs me the wrong way is that somehow they're completely oblivious to polite, intricately worded feedback and requests but somehow always manage to be led astray into pursuing whatever the Twitter community is outraged over at the time.

One has to question why they're made aware of a vocal minority demanding male characters to be granted the ability to use the infamous 'Karen' hairstyle or latest dress despite hardly anyone actually using either...but the consistent requests for male characters to get more muscle definition, facial hair and tattoo options - namely stuff that the majority of men actually approve of as an option - repeatedly catches the development team off guard.

Even obscure requests such as the 'concerns' over the soon to be changed term 'Beast Tribe' seem to make it to the development team, yet in a recent Live Letter Yoshi-P declared that he couldn't understand why Emet-Selch was so popular.

I rather suspect that part of the issue is the development team deliberately distancing themselves from feedback that isn't carefully curated and the other half of the problem is that they're relying on community 'representatives', community managers and 'localisers' who largely ignore anything that isn't Twitter or Reddit where FFXIV related discussion is concerned.

As it happens, neither Twitter or Reddit are good places for getting feedback related to the actual game given that the bulk of discussion there is about canon characters, self inserts and largely inconsequential matters in general.

Honestly think it's more that they are selective in what feedback they take. I recall in a previous Q&A that Yoshi-P was asked about the MCH ping problems, and his reply was something along the line of not knowing of any ping problems. This is after both forum posters, streamers and content creators have complained about it.
