Pretty much, yeah. I'll just add the the design philosophy is not the main issue here. Of course people there are pros and cons to the design philosophy of FFXIV, as with any other game. The main issue is saying that someone should be fired just because they have a different view about a subject, when said view is harmless.

That's not arguing. That's just hate.

People hate and I mean hate the housing system. But generally no one has said they should be fired for the idea of the system. And all discussion of why they can't do something else has been ignored, that isn't a big deal. We aren't owed answers. People have asked for others to be fired when they make mistakes. Not releasing a stable product 2.0, lieing about housing 2.0, stability issues and cash grab transfers HW, designing a whole expansion around instances and not having a system in place to use instances, repeated login server issues over the whole games life span, lotto bugged. These aren't design philosophy issues and they have worked on some of these issues.



But you make it sound like peoples competency and employment shouldn't be questioned when multiple mistakes are made. See now we are at philosophical difference. Some people feel a certain level of accountability in life should be maintained, yet clearly you don't see it the same way.

ff14 has problems, sure. but I dare anyone to name an online game that doesn't have problems. What's important is that the positive outweighs the negative, and with teh awesome story, great raids, the good pvp update (though i'm not a pvper i'm no expert on that) the plethora of side content that there is to do, I think the odd glitch here and there can be tolerated.

That’s a horrible way to look at criticism. “Oh every game has problems so the odd glitch can be tolerated” Hrothgar hairs being absolute shit isn’t an odd glitch. The devs laughing at them isn’t an odd glitch. An entire role getting gutted for 6 years isn’t an odd glitch. Dps jobs getting gutted now isn’t an odd glitch. Pvp being an unbalanced and buggy mess isn’t an odd glitch(technically).

Your positives are all subjective. Many people didn’t enjoy the story. A lot of people found the new ex trial to be a joke and hardly difficult, same with the alli raids. Plethora of side content? What is there to do this patch in regards to side stuff outside of role quests and pvp?

Well that’s what happens when you choose to not listen to your players and instead pick a hill to die on for your own selfish reasons as a developer. Whilst also taking what, 6-8 years to even address the problem in the first place. Sorry i have 0 sympathy for them.

Hrothgar hairs being a problem ain’t subjective. Cutting off the ears of a race due to hair? Yeah no that’s an objective failure “friend.” Viera and hrothgar not being able to wear certain helms isn’t subjective, it’s an objective flaw. Try another one though you guys are great and bending over backwards for the devs. I’m sure you would like me to unsub so i stop pointing out flaws in your beloved perfect game.

That's a strange conclusion to make when it's more likely than not that players who care enough about the game to not want it to crash and burn aren't in need of being weirdly defensive about literally every decision the development team happens to make.

As for enjoyable social gatherings, as someone who has interacted with him in-game and outside of it? You're quite right! He's genuinely one of the kindest players I've met in this game.

If the posts of certain contributors bother some of you so much, the ignore function exists for that reason. So long as people are abiding by the forum's code of conduct then there's no real justification to try and police the content and feedback of other players.

They don't bother me, you seem to be riling up though. I've already sent my feedback at my grievances to the FFXIV team, I wanted to throw in my suggestion that screaming "look at me I'm salty and mad and everyone pay attention to me" doesn't really solve anything. Very Karen-esque.
