What is going on with Square Enix and the 14 team?

I would say that the game is more likely to go in the direction of the World of Plenty. I think I can spot some of the people who made half of these funny tags sitting on the benches in their nice white robes gazing longingly toward Yoshida's warm glow...

Speaking of, actually, I recall a big problem apparently being that the ears are attached to the head model of Hrothgar, but supposedly some people who dug into the resources found this to be untrue? Unless I'm misremembering the limitations. Honestly, either way, it's getting harder and harder not to compare Hrothgar in XIV and Charr from GW2 and wonder why one can handle it so much easier than the other.

That's a legitimate question. I'm very curious.

I'm just here remembering how I told people that the moment they allowed for the word "limited" to enter this game's vocabulary with Blue Mage that things weren't going to end up well, and how many people defended the state of things at that time. And how they defended the state of affairs when it was clear from the benchmark that Hrothgar and Viera were going to be a humongous problem moving forward, which is to say nothing of the return to gender-locked races.

But no, anyone who was against those backward decisions was called so many things by what was supposedly the least toxic mmorpg community out there. I wonder how many of those individuals have since opened their eyes and taken a look around, or if they are still behaving the same way they did back then.

I made my concerns known, but in hindsight I don't think I believed that things would get so out of hand. Yet, here we are.

It's progressive , just like many are saying happened to WoW. I kept seeing the devs get passes by people, like "give them time" etc. or this or that doesn't matter. The quality has been going downhill for awhile. I've said this before, but I always have to now emphasize *quality* when I question some design decisions. They seem to have moved over to mass appeal, and we are seeing the repercussions of that. Jobs being diluted, large scale content being focused, etc..

On top of that, FFXIV has a large amount of devout players. They won't bring up any issues with the game, and will, in fact, come to threads like these, or create new threads to try to sway any potential feedback to the devs as just a few people whining on the forums, that the *Actual* playerbase think the devs are doing a great job.

I'm still raging about BLU and dread the potential day PUP gets this treatment. I'm baffled people still defend what's quite literally "I didn't feel like finishing it."

A little bit of hopium that the game will get better, friends that still play and want to play with them, enjoy certain aspects of the game but think that SE could do a lot better in other parts of the game. Those are the reasons I still play, mostly.

I do like the game. Been playing for years in fact. Heavensward was my favourite expansion mostly because of DRK and it challenged its players unlike nowadays.

That said, you still have "fun", but it's very limited. Yoshi P and his unit have listened to players in the past and has shown an interest in communicating with his fanbase.

It's just since Shadowbringers that there seems a huge focus on inviting new players to the game, while we basically keep our arse aflot on water so they can walk on it towards the next expansion.

They've also repeated disappointed Viera and Hrothgar players, in fact it took them 2 years from the launch of ShB towards Endwalker to add new hairstyles which aren't even unique to the races.

Same story was with WoW . At some point ppl get to much of being ignored and most of them left. You think here will be different if they gonna be ignoring players ?
