I mean there's Lost Ark??? I heard a lot of praise for it despite it being pay 2 win.

I can see why you would think so, but comparing FFXIV with Lost Ark is similar to comparing WoW with Runescape. They're MMO but not the same type of MMOs.
You can compare Lost Ark to Path of exile but you can't compare both to FFXIV and WoW
You can compare Albion online with Runescape but you can't compare them to both Lost Ark and Path of exile.
Different aspects and focuses that you can't just simply compare. Trying to do so is like comparing cars with buses or trucks. They run on the same road and are identical in similarities yet so different, and so are MMOs
Currently, nothing really stands out in the field. New world died, ESO and GW2 are getting expansions but aren't really standing out from the crowd and WoW just lost its playerbase. I'm having hopes that WoW's next expansion will take a positive curve into improvements and that Ashes of creation will turn out to be a great game (Its really promising in my opinion) so that the competition and the genre will be revived.

It's not the customer's job to tell them how to fix their issues. Why would it be our responsibility to tell their paid employees how to fix their own product? There have been suggestions, for instance on how to deal with healer issues, which they routinely ignore.

There have been long, on-going threads of complaints, and for many this is just compounding these issues, which other posters have articulated several times now.

If you don't like complaints threads, stick to the positive ones, but we're not retracting our comments or complaints because this thread doesn't meet some supposed requisite "positivity" quota.

As far as I'm concerned, Square is not allowed to mess up on making a working random number generator. I was taught how to make one during gcses in high school. A line has gotta be drawn somewhere and I am drawing it right here. People are free to disagree of course. But to the layman like me, this screams incompetence.

I'm not sure why many people are saying we should try to offer solutions to be honest. We're random people on the Internet. If we could solve their issues for then they better give us a job offer.

Furthermore, the housing debacle can't be fixed. Rollback everything? People who win, despite there being a possible bias in the system, get fucked. Don't rollback? I did say the housing stuff isn't acceptable. But I don't think anyone here is saying to fix the game for them so not sure where that's coming from.

Alright, I'll give a solution then. Remove housing from the game and fire everyone involved in housing. They have shown time and time again they don't know what they're doing. Expecting people to stay up all night clicking on a sign? Simply absurd. If they can't do a feature right, then don't add it. Otherwise they are just giving us hope and letting us down over and over. Rework Island sanctuary into actual instanced housing, assuming the people in charge of that have an IQ above room temperature. Yoshi-p let 1.0 burn to remake it to be something good, it's time for the shitty housing team to go the same way.

How about you keep the old system, work on a new one that allows for instanced plots and then release that to the public. Still, those already with houses should not be deprived of that experience because you and I don't have one, or they could lessen that strain by allowing for bigger apartments. It's absurd that we state that a large plot can't be in an apartment. The same goes with a free company hall.

What is weird is this has been consensus since day one issues. Leave the wards as is, they were an attempt that failed the community. Just build proper instanced housing. I have even went so far as to suggest a charge on sub if it is server cost issue. Then you get the SE apologists get an apartment it is instanced. Except they didn't build that new they just reused free company housing assets and can't make it any better.



This dev team has refused and put more and more into their system of housing. I don't know why they refuse to admit it is a mistake and move on.

Oh I do have a house. I realise my opinion is quite controversial, and most people with houses will obviously think that it is a shitty idea. But I have no confidence in the housing team that they will improve this system, only to make it worse. Unless everyone involved in housing is replaced in the company completely, I think letting it burn is better than watching the housing team screw up again and again for another 9 years. It'll save us a lot time and anger in the long run kek

I think the game has problems like job design, spaghetti code or hrothgar hair, but I really don't agree with the rest. Every patch has tons of stuff to do for me and the quality of, say, the latest raid speaks for itself. And the level of self-expression is something I don't see in any other MMO. Their priorities seem a bit backwards sometimes but the sky is definitely not falling.

...and yet a decade into the game's development I still can't play a tall, conventionally attractive well-built human with authentic eyebrows. One of the most standard combinations in pretty much every fantasy game ever.

I like my Midlander, though I'd much prefer the option to play a taller guy with bigger muscles who doesn't look like he's lost a hundred bar fights.

No they can't, because then the people unhappy come into that thread and have the "How dare you say something positive" attitude or accuse them of ignoring or being blind to issues. Can we just agree that people are going to have differing opinions and we don't get to decide when those opinions get stated? Everyone should feel free to speak up on these forums, but I rarely see anything positive because the negative people jump down their throats when they do.
