I cancelled my subscription too. At this point, I feel like taking a break is well overdue.
I've always preached how SE have extorted money from Viera and Hrothgar's limitations, but from the outside looking in it seems barely any of that money is invested back into the limited races.
We want them improved, and we want it done within a reasonable time.

Considering this but I manage an FC so I need to figure out if someone wants to take over.

While there are problems to be as hyperbolic as some here are being is a bit disingenuous don't you think? Most of the issues brought up have been addressed or are being reviewed, that would never happen in say WoW. I will be happy as long as I know it is being addressed or reviewed. I will admit there are problems of course but they fact they have been pretty open about it and willing to try to make amends/adjustments where possible tells me this ain't close to begin nearly as bad as WoW, no dev has gone "We don't want you playing *insert class here*" yet.

Nothing will ever come close to as tone-deaf as WoW was during BfA and Shadowlands by a mile given the issues that took months for them to address were brought up in beta and promptly ignored.

Honestly, the WoW comparisons are strange to me because...it can easily be inferred that after seeing the decline of WoW in real time many players moved over to FFXIV who are now seeing the exact same decline here as well.

WoW didn't collapse into controversy over the course of a single expansion. It was a slow, steady process that consisted of many different problems stacking up atop one another. Even then, many players rushed to stifle feedback and pretend everything was fine.

Exactly. It was a slow, gradual process much like the one we're seeing here and had just as many people trying to stifle feedback.

This game already has a massive cash shop though. You can level boost, story skip, race change, home world change, buy NPC outfits as cosmetics, buy other cosmetics, wedding services, mounts and minions. The only difference is that the cash shop isn't built into the game client like it is for World of Warcraft and just about every other modern MMO and assorted online games. That's literally it. Yoshi-P isn't protecting us from anything but rather holding up this illusion that FFXIV isn't the soulless cash cow of Square Enix. Well, I hate to break it to you, it's the soulless cash cow of SE and once you look beyond that, Yoshi-P is kind of clueless when it comes to certain key areas of game design like class design. There's a solid case for replacing him already.

Its called a joke, but no. You want to avoid the pitfall. At this point, I'd question if this idea of "not having the PTR" makes better QA for development, when something this catastrophic (in terms of design) happened.

Sorry. I did wonder whether it was a joke or not, but... still, it wasn't really aimed at you. I know I sounded aggressive with "So?" but I'm really just following off of what I said. "It's not that bad, but let's not get down there. Even if there's worse, let's try to make it better and not settle".

It looks like a certain "disconnection" between the devs and the players for me. And it seems, that their QA is not really existent. This housing bug could be easily discovered when they would buy some houses on an internal test system. But it seems, that nobody did it and this bug is now on a "productive" system. That's weird.

Do you know how shitty it feels, to beg for changes for your role for over 6 years, only to get nothing. Then you see the dps jobs, constantly being told they’re being listened to, and they get fixed and reworked. Then we finally get the lead dev to hear us and his only answer is go play ultimate.

6 fucking years healers have asked. Meanwhile dps get changes within a patch. So yes, please, spare me the just wait’s. Spare me the just keep being constructive. If it hadn’t gotten us anywhere in 6 years what hope do we have when they can’t even release housing systems properly?
