    You can't even code a simple random number picker correctly.

    As have others, I've recently once again come unstuck by the absolute joy that is "the dev team".

    You're asking us to ignore the Hrothgar issues.
    And the Viera issues, male and female.
    The hideous textures on armor.
    The lack of new gear pieces for EW.
    The lack of Relic steps for EW.
    The constant dumbing down and homogenization of the entire play structure.

    But now, you guys, sat wherever you are, can't even make a random number picker work correctly.

    Yep, my FC is full of sprouts and lower level players, they're up and coming, your TARGET audience. They've saved just north of 50 mill combined between around 15 active players.

    They/we were all so giddy with excitment for the Lottery, I knew there was a fairly large chance for disappointment in the lottery, but that's life.

    Little did I know they would be completely decimated by you, the creators of the game.

    I was around for the continual demise of WoW, the current state of this game is echoing something of that, around the same time as MOP.

    How this EVER could have gotten through Q+A - I hope the person responsible loses their job irrelevant of seniority.

    So f**** disappointed in you guys. This is literally 12 year old levels of code required to make this work properly.

    I have to wonder if the numbers were all shifted by 1. Meaning that if 0 was a possible win, was the very last lottery entrant excluded completely (hence why people who had ticket #1 lost)

    Two people in my FC won with their ticket being #1.. so I think this is not the case, but I could be interpreting what you're saying wrong, I'm not going to pretend I know anything about coding lol.

    Yes, they did many things right before, but the current direction they're taking is no better than your other typical Korean MMORPG developer/publisher.

    There are reports on the reddit thread of people winning with the highest number (i.e. 8 bidders, #8 wins) so it doesn't appear to be a purely off-by-one error. Seems like the whole range was considered plus zero, or something else internal is going on.

    The QA & coders are hopefully getting reamed into the ground right now for whatever the underlying issue is considering how significant a feature this was.
    And they deserve it. Even if this was their failsafe, it's a pathetically displayed one that serves to confuse and disrupt the players.

    You can't make an "unintentional" mistake like this when you've been dealing with rng's for +25 years in many, many rpg's (and they even have experience in online and previous mmorpg too)

    "It's SURELY A MISTAKE !!! It cannot be !"

    I know a few listing of houses not for gil on websites poping out everywhere that are very happy with this system !

    Maybe square will fix a few of them to save face as a decoy / distraction but most of them are already gone.

    I'm seriously hoping for the "island" thing to be a housing feature or else, a few hundred k players out of their new millions of subs are going to be really disappointed.

    I dont think this can be the case. We're getting messages saying "No participants in the lottery" with a participant count of 1. And besides... Nobodies claiming any of the properties? Like a few plots vacant would make sense but dozens? Its definitely more than registering the first bid as bid 0

    If the whole range was considering 0, then how are any of the winning lotteries valid? I was #1 and lost to a #8, but if 0 was considered then that's not correct. Maybe I would have won if it was coded correctly?

    If this was the case, then it's definitely not a beginner's coding issue. It's most likely a system crash issue. A programmer usually does a failsafe so the whole system doesn't crash. Most likely, midway through going through the processing, the system overloaded and crashed, so it started outputting null values or 0s. Thus, while some winners were processed, the remaining plots had the winner become 0.

    The chances of THIS many plots getting 0 is a little too high for this to be RNG.
