At this rate they might as well just make housing instanced. Let FCs have the Wards but individual players all get an instanced house to decorate. It would allow players to place down a glamour dresser instead of having to fix spaghetti code of putting it into an "massively editable area", i mean while yes players are "adventurers" we have saved the world COUNTLESS times, why should we be on the streets? Mods exist to fix the hats so it CAN'T be that big of an issue. Like legitimately they could reach out and ask the players "how did you do this?"

In short, if you placed your bid before the maintenance then for whatever reason it wasn't counted or was made invalid. That also explains why, plots with multiple bids, the winners have been the later (higher numbered) bids.

Yes, it's a problem and it's frustrating, but you're showing your ignorance if you think this is a basic programming error to do with generating random numbers. It's much more likely to be something wrong with the databases and an unexpected artefact of their maintenance pipeline, which is far far more complex.

It shows a lack of testing too. The issue is so rampant if they'd have tested the lottery not even on the scale of a ward they'd have noticed right away.

Nah, some people won plots having bid before the maint, and others have got the error having bid after the maint. Majority of my fc bid after the maint and we still got the error.

We did however, notice that the ward and plot numbers were mixed up (so at least in the line that confirmed that we bid, we bid on a plot in "ward 60" when we actually bid on plot #60).

Correct me if there is something I am not quite getting.

A suspicious amount of plots all over the Emperyum had 0 bids, leading to the conclusion that a possible coding error would assign the first bidder the number 0.

When the lottery draw was executed, 0 is not one of the possible number that can be drawn, effectively eliminating whoever bid first on the property.

What this also means is that if only one person bid on the property, they too were arsed out and the plot is back up for bidding for the next lottery round

Due to other questionable results such as the highest bidder still winning, which should not happen if there was an integer shift because of zero, we are not quite sure how the lottery was coded, only that it was done so erroneously.


..Am I understanding everything correctly? Just trying to wrap my head around the matter.

I have to wonder if the numbers were all shifted by 1. Meaning that if 0 was a possible win, was the very last lottery entrant excluded completely (hence why people who had ticket #1 lost)

My ticket was #1 and I won.
