That's the fault of the servers terrible tick rates. It plagues pve as well. I actually have a clip of P2 Savage of me standing a bit too close to the auto kill wall, but before we pulled I had taken a few steps forward so I was pretty far from the wall at thought point, but the tick rate of the server was so far behind that when the countdown ended and the pld pulled the boss I dropped dead because the game thought I was still behind that wall when the boss was pulled and it spawned the kill wall.

Its been like this for years, so don't expect them to suddenly improve the servers for pvp which is a mode thats never been popular.
