Need advices for PVP cristalline conflict

Hey ! Im not really good at pvp in general but i wanted to try the rework after hearing good stuff about it, and also to grind the new event, so i tried the cristalline conflict game mode.

The thing is... i got DECIMATED. As i expected but, that was worse than what i imagined.
I played white mage knowing i would be an easy target for the opposite team but i completely failed to defend myself and also help the team since i would die so quickly and be targeted by the entire enemy team first.

WHM is my only healer yet so i'd love to hear some of your advices to get better at it and have a chance to play that mode for more than 1 minute
I would also gladly take advices about playing the other classes as well so i can be more versatile !

I take it you know that hotbars in PVP are completely different than in PVE right? Even if you played PVP before now, all that stuff has been completely reworked so you have to set it up again. Also take heart that a lot of people are still on the old Feast mentality of "see healer, stomp healer".

Yeah don't worry i took care of my hotbars and all, tried to get my hands used to it (even if i still need a bit more time)
I kinda understand targetting the healer as a strategy but in a game mode so fast paced and where you can't communicate im still struggling to find ways to properly defend myself and do anything at all, the map can be an obstacle for me sometimes since some parts are narrow i need LOS to do anything

What happened each time is i got caught from afar, got applied tons of debuffs that i immediately get rid off, but im in the middle of everyone now and get hit from everywhere at the same time ://

The best way to play any Healer, in both PvP as well as in PvE, is to not be a easy target. Position yourself in a way where dps cant easily reach you, but close enough to your ABC (Always Be Casting). Positioning yourself correctly is what makes the difference between a good and a bad Healer, so use the Area to your advantage even if it means sometimes to bail out. Your Team mates are sturdier than you think but not as much as you expect, always keep that in mind.

Don't undervalue protect, if you feel a lot of people are targetting you use protect and that will make them lose a lot of time in nothing while the others hit them too.

I only play the healers in pvp even knowing everyone will go for me. Tis fun using this to your advantage! Team members behind you ready to re-enforce as you present yourself to enemy team, the helpless healer, only to fall back into said team. Everyone cannot resist leaving the objective to kill you either so tis also fun watching them abandon a win just to attempt killing you.

Ohhh and remember to as more pvp focused friends always told me, "Play the objective". If you see everyone fighting and no one is pushing you should go do this. Yup yup even as the healer. You do not always need to be healing the team because the goal is not killing everyone it is winning.

practice on the dummies in wolves den to get a good feel for the skills and such.. Also play in frontline as well for a few matches. its a bit more forgiving in that aspect where if you die you can get back into the fray fairly quickly.

As for crystalline, you need to map those quick chat to your hotbar and the big key is people need to focus burn a target to be somewhat successful in victories.

You also need to practice your flow of combat rotation. You have less time and less buttons that means the order of your buttons matter exponentially more. The difference in how and when you press certain actions will make a big difference in your overall success. Example as a RPR it took me an embarrassingly long time to understand that every engagement should be started with Death Warrant into Arcane Crest > damage. The difference in pressing those 2 buttons and not pressing them was the difference between a kill and a failure.
