    In the same expansion they decide to remove cone AOEs from WAR and SAM, they introduce Reaper, which has two cone GCDs, two cone oGCDs, and a line AOE.

    Job design has been so confused lately. It's also evident with button consolidation (GNB/PLD combos vs. WAR's Inner Release/Primal Rend) and "cleave" oGCD upgrades (PLD's Expiacion vs. WAR's Orogeny). It was so apparent in 6.0 that I thought it was intentional; I thought maybe the devs were trying bits and pieces of everything to see what "sticks" with players. But here we are in 6.1 and things only seem to have diverged more. I can only assume there's a lack of oversight or guidance on what jobs should look like going forward, so different developers are going different directions.

    P.S. I would not be surprised in the least to find out SAM and WAR are under the "guidance" of the same developer. They both suffer from a lot of the same problems, not to mention the fetish for guaranteed crits.
