Revert Samurai Changes! Bring back our Kaiten!

Im a Samurai main and I want Kaiten back. I feel so empty without it. I personally don't care about numbers, but I do care about how a job plays. Being able to manage your Kenki gauge was really engaging and fun! It felt so good to have just enough Kenki for Kaiten and seeing your Kenki gauge go to zero after you use Kaiten for Ogi Namikiri. Being able to manage your kenki throughout a whole fight makes the job so satisfying. It just shows how well you are playing. Plus the animation flowed really well! Just pressing Shinten and keeping 25 Kenki for Senei just feels boring. Please bring 6.08 Samurai back! There are plenty of videos out on Youtube saying the same thing and even pointed out ways to fix the "button bloat" even when there wasn't any. I play on a controller and other controller players will say the same thing.

SE: For this patch we'd like to throw samurai in the trash. who cares about the players that love Samurai the way it was before. Take this hollow version and play it. Its much easier to play right? more fun right? WRONG

It's not so much that I want to, I'm just that upset and frustrated. The stages of grief I go through and if I ever hit the point of acceptance then it's probably where I have uninstalled the game. I barely log on anymore and no motivation to play. So I turned into a forum lurker while playing something like FF7 again. As little as I have posted and as late and recently as I have joined the forums, I hope at least being a Samurai only player main with some raiding experience gives any ounce of credibility to the opinions I voice regarding the Samurai changes. Normally I would help fill random PF parties now who are doing Savage content, but the change... yeah just upset. Didn't knew I was this Passionate about my class that it hit me that much.

I go from Raiding in-game to " Parsing Forums " offline, the freaking irony omg what has happened... just revert this so I can leave the forums

I played SAM extensively last night in an attempt to rinse out Kaiten muscle memory. Higanbana, Goken, and Setsugekka all felt like they are missing something each and every time I used them. I could still probably live it down if it weren't for my other issues with SAM, When roulettes threw me back in pre-EW content, the job was actually more enjoyable without the second charges to Meikyo and Tsubame, and I realized just how much I detest those add on abilities, and how just bringing back Kaiten won't really change how I feel about SAM right now. The auto crits also are not helping the satisfaction of using my hard hitters, especially when I see other players direct crit their skills for higher amounts.

SAM seriously feels like it got shanked in the gut, and I can only imagine how the savage raiders feel about it.

Same for me! I have refused to log in anymore. I will continue my efforts until this is addressed. I loved playing Samurai in FF11 and always hoped they would add it. They mentioned it in Heavensward then I got my hopes up and Stormblood happened. I was so happy. I stayed optimistic about Kaiten's removal until the actual notes came out, and then came the disbelief.

I completely agree with you. The charges give them excuses to further cut the potencies every single time they add an extra hit or two instead or something innovative. It's lazy design. I just always view the crits as "You will never crit" instead, it has that feeling especially with the potency shifting.

I don't even play SAM much but I feel gutted. I haven't wanted to log in since the patch, and that's despite DRK now finally feeling playable.

This just does not bode well for the future of job design. Healers will continue to have nothing engaging to do. Tanks can solo content in most grindy way possible. And now none of the DPS jobs outside of BLM will be mentally stimulating. And everyone is expected to stick to a rigid 2 minute burst window that leaves them bored and on autopilot 3/4 of uptime.

This is objectively bad design and they just keep leaning further into it. Players don't have agency anymore. They are given a single-octave baby piano and expected to slowly plink away to sheet music at a snail-like 60 bpm with the rest of the class until teacher says time up, lets practice movement 2. This is hardly a game anymore. It's band class and the only payoff you are getting is a participation trophy because only your parents bothered to endure that end of semester performance.

It was a cool animation, created kenki management as a meaningful job mechanic, pleasant sound effect, core part of samurai's identity combo (kaiten->midare), gave options for how to spend kenki(shinten+kaiten = 45 kenki in a single gcd), was responsive and fun to use.

Bring back Kaiten please. It feels off and not really fun without it. I play all jobs yet Sam is my main, do most contents on it untill im burnt out and play other classes. Please bring back Kaiten, the job feel clunky and unfun to play
