Bard song buff ping ponging when multiple songs in play is annoying

I know this is a minor issue that has existed for a long time and only appears when there are multiple bards in your party (which only exists in Duty Finder settings) who aren’t playing the same songs, but I honestly have no idea what the buff icon changing between songs achieves. From my understanding it does not mean the buff type changes depending on what the icon is. Only one of them is actually active. Unless I’m wrong and it actually does change which is probably worse.

And yes, it is not a big deal. But if you look at this footage provided by the internet, you can see it interacting with the Wanderer’s Minuet bug too.

I think either making same songs stack and different songs not stack, or giving a buff for partywide buff and a buff for your own effects might solve the issue of the game constantly checking which song is active.

Most party buffs like Battle Litany, Chain Strat, AST cards, Divination, Technical Finish and Battle Voice don’t stack, so I don’t think it’s intended for them to stack. BRD’s old crit enhancing buffs in SB never stacked either, or Foe Requiem. Them not stacking ultimately doesn’t matter that much unless you’re looking to parse. Which, if you’re in a serious group for that, there wouldn’t be doubles of any job in the first place

As for the Minuet/Pitch Perfect bug, they are aware of it and plan to implement a fix in Patch 6.11. Apparently it requires a client update that they didn’t want to do last night during the hotfix maintenance or something.

There isn’t much you can do about the buffs swapping. The application of the buff relies on server ticks, and there isn’t a way to change that as far as I’m aware. Buffs that don’t stack normally overwrite each other, which is what is happening here. The buffs are just different so you can see the overwriting versus it being invisible like the old SB song crit buffs were. And they’re continuously being applied while in each song, so it’s a constant thing. Versus a one and done buff, where they don’t overwrite each tick.

The bug will be fixed, so there is that. I’m less miffed about the buffs constantly overwriting each other and more shocked that the developers didn’t seem to think to test this new consolidation to see if it would be an issue, given how song buffs work.
