It defnitely needs some balancing but... overall it's pretty good!
I'm also really impressed with the new actions and what they do. Best proof that less buttons doesn't mean less engaging gameplay.

It's a step in the right direction, a baby step but a step none the less. PvP will always be plagued with the fact that the game was not built with PvP in mind.
It is a complete wreck. Pull it off the game. Fix it. Try again.
It's a fun side thing but there's not exactly a lot of depth to the Jobs.
As someone who's not into pvp and only did pvp roulettes a few times for exp and glams, this new mode is SO much fun and simple that I've been playing it for hours! I hope they keep updating it.
I feel like CC is a problem when there's so much lag on Purify that a single player can potentially kill you by the time you notice you can't do anything and try to use it.
I also feel like you shouldn't be able to descend out of your current numbered tier for losing and that the win streak bonuses should be removed to compensate. There's just too much luck of draw involved in getting good team comps/players to be punishing/rewarding you extra for repeated losses/wins.

Agreed. I think they need to move the rank decay to the silver rank due to the fact we are forced to queue with random players.I feel like CC is a problem when there's so much lag on Purify that a single player can potentially kill you by the time you notice you can't do anything and try to use it.

The odds of getting 3 wins in a row are 12.5% modified by skill. That's not very high. I think people who have ranked up so fast are doing some sort of queue manipulation.
Could be skill but with the team mates I've been subjected to it makes it HIGHLY unlikely.
Problem is that the second you do premade vs premade you will kill the short queue times we have currently. We'll be back to 30m wait times. This could be solved by allowing premades in ranked mode, in my opinion. I was surprised that it wasn't a thing because it's, you know, ranked and all. For casual mode and CC exp it makes sense I guess to have solo queues, even if I don't agree with it. But with ranked play it seems like a no brainer to allow premades.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Ranked pops in like 30s right now due to casuals trying it out and the low bar to entry. Remove the casuals and you will be right back to The Feast situation where people get their rank and sit on it.
Just a thought, not sure if it would work - how about including a tick box in duty finder setting allowing solo queuer to choose if they would be willing to fight premades?
I imagine more experienced PVPers would welcome the challenge of fighting more coordinated opponents (also not all premades are PvP premades - they could just be FCs or friends playing together), while casuals can opt out to avoid being steamrolled while still learning.
Although I imagine this needs to be casual mode only and not in ranked mode (or maybe some people are happy for it to be in ranked mode too?)
