Revert Samurai Changes

Though I fully appreciate the desire to keep the game accessible to new comers, you have a duty to your existing player base.

With one fell swoop you have taken the favourite class of countless players and not only ruined any semblance of pleasure we had from playing it, but have also shown complete disregard for the hours spent honing the skills to play it well and with pride.

I'm sure many would consider what I'm about to say as melodramatic, but after my 8 years of playing this game I have never felt so disrespected for my time and for the effort I've put into mastering something. It honestly feels like you don't care about the veterans who have stood by this game and beckoned countless others to join your player base.

This was never about action/button bloat and to be told that is INSULTING. This isn't even about Samurai at this point. It feels like you simply wish to cater to newer players to the extent that you are willing to give them power without truly giving them a sense of accomplishment. This is an insufferably hollow direction to take the game.

I really, really do not want to unsub. I have made countless friends, including my wife playing this game as well as going to 3 fan fests, but I can't continue to condone this disregard for your experienced players. You are walking the exact same path that lead the exodus of wow and it's truly painful to witness.

I only been playing for 6 months maybe ( joined FFXIV at end of ShB ), no where near as long as 8 years and I thought I was passionate about Samurai...

Hoping for change is not where I draw the line, at this point I demand it... cause I agree it was " insulting ". Label me entitled idc, I never wanted any of these changes. I was content the way our SAM was at patch 6.08, I agree with your post mhm

This exactly. These changes are an insult to all current players. After FFXIV has recently got a boost in numbers, SE are trying to simplify mechanics to make everything more widely accessible without realizing what drew all these new players in the first place. Change your job balancing ideology, as it is a degrading mentality of all the paying consumers of your game.

Agree with the post. Lately with FFXIV I have felt betrayed multiple times, but I stuck with it because there is always some positives. However, with these Samurai changes, I no longer feel that way. Playing some of the more recent jobs that were touched by square, I only fear what's to come in the future. I feel as if the developers are talking to us from a mountain, where we can hear them, but they can't hear us.

I still can't believe this change. It feels so tone deaf it reminds me of a new ability they were going to add to SAM before Endwalker release...

Do you all remember when they were going to add a 3rd follow up attack to Fuga/Fuko that would give the 3rd Sen coin? AOE! It made it to the media tour!

Makes me wonder if the people behind the changes to Samurai actually do play it.

I really appreciate this comment. If anything it shows that as a newer player, you enjoyed the complexity the class had to offer, and not the dumbed down farce that it is now. Though 6 months is a decent chunk of time, I think there's a lot more newer players that could do with having their voices be heard as I imagine most who understand this change won't like the direction it indicates SE is taking for the game's future.

it is true Kaiten have to return, in PvE Samurai feels wrong, dull and stupid.. like lvl50 but with all that new Kenki/Ogi stuff for no reason, Kaiten was that reason though there are also good changes to the Samurai of 6.1 Tenka Goken for example is now a circle AoE, while true it also challenges veteran muscle memory but in a Good Way in my Opinion..
also funnily enough.. PvP Samurai rocks now.. so well.. I.. jumped to PvP until Kaiten is back!
