PVP Queues for Ranked Matches

I understand the goal of not allowing duo or trio queues to avoid frustration towards soloQ players but theres no excuse to not allow 5x5 premades on ranked matches.

Due to lack of communication options and since its not a game mode where you can solo carry the group only SoloQ option can me even more frustrating. Even more playing with friends and climbing ranks together is what makes group pvp fun.

I dont see reason to add rankings if the matches result is aways an RNG due to soloQ reasons.

Another important point is that ranks being tied to individual jobs would be too much but at least some type of filter can be also benefic since right now i can climb to Gold for exemple as PLD and queue as SMN or NIN without not even played a match with them.


Any suggestions for how to improve or add ideas to new pvp are aways welcome. I would love to have a sidecontent such as PVP on FFXIV to spend some time on content drough times.

I just wanted to add my complaint towards not being able to play PVP with friends. This is an MMO i was so excited told my friends to all get on tonight and then saw we cant play together. Major let down. This will push my PVP friends away from the game. Fantastic and fun battles though.

Would be cool to do this format with friends but definitely not ranked.

There are too many extremly skilled players with an massive amount of alts.
This has already - with solo queues - been an issue in the Feast Top 100.

Enabling groups to run matches as a group of 5 on VC will destroy the
entire ranking system. It would just take 5 players with 8 chars each to block
the entire top 50. And with premades the ranking is done in no time.

And as soon as people find out they will do the same.

there isn't much reason to not allow team ques into CC at the very least in casual because losing doesn't matter you will progress battle pass regardless

i understand the concern about ppls dominating the top100 positions but the reality is that this is only possible due to the low population in the PVP scene, but with this changes, if they manage the mode properly players may get interested in putting more time into it and solve this problem with time. Solo queues for right now since for now you cant influence much on the final result, specially because the communication is limited.

Most of you people suggesting team ranked queues would be demolished by many of the more veteran players also teaming up. This is as balanced as it can be for now. If the game mode remains popular enough, a team ranked season could be in the future, it just hasn't worked well in the past. As far as communication, just grab a 1 marker, put in on an enemy's head, and hope that your team gets the picture to focus them down. The "attacking target" quickchat helps too.

That aside, I am surprised that the casual mode isn't at minimum duo queue.

Not being able to play this with friends has absolutely killed my enthusiasm for the mode.

With Feast gone, what option do we have for tight knit PvP? Frontlines are a joke and I don't enjoy the 1v1v1 aspect. More than anything, it's ridiculous that an MMO won't let me play with friends.

I know pre-mades are annoying to fight, I've got 15+ years in WoW Battlegrounds to confirm that, but the opposite extreme now is I literally cannot enjoy this mode as much as I would if playing with friends and family. And that massively discourages me from getting too invested because I can't share any fun or excitement from my matches with other people, only 4 total strangers I'll never see again.

I just got out of a game where I pressed "attack whm" and immediately got counter called with "attack pld" and he proceded to put a 1 ontop of the paladin. Maybe its a symptom of being on crystal but god there is some absolute pants on head going on in here.

I really don't think the solution to pre-mades is to completely kill it as a group activity altogether

Make Trials queue only for a while, see how it fares in PvE for the community...
