This is the clearest symbol of how totally useless the carbuncle is.


While in a dungeon with a Summoner, his carbuncle had its back turned to the fight, sat there, and did nothing.


Can you imagine how useless something has to be to not even be interested in the fight. It wasn't even looking at it!


Carbuncle needs something to do. Auto shoot. Something! Don't just sit there!

Carbuncle casts Radiant Aegis and is turned into other carbuncles, egis and demi-summons during trances. It does serve a purpose. But I won't deny it could at least have some sort of animation play out for specific moments.

EDIT: No! Actually something useful: It can dance on the corpses of others as well helpfully reminding you to res them, at least maybe once Swiftcast comes off cooldown.
