DX11 Error 11000002 - Frequent and Making Game Unplayable

Hello,

I came back in December after quitting in 2014. (I do not remember why I bailed then; life and I believe this issue were the cause.) Early January I started having this issue with DirectX 11 Error 11000002 causing the game to crash out. It was infrequent or rare, then became so frequent I couldn't even get past the character selection screen. It also occurred during the Endwalker system test run, usually near the end.

I'm at my wits end with it. I love this game and want to keep playing, but will not be able to if I cannot resolve this soon. I've tried everything I could find online to help, including (in no particular order):

-Fresh install of game
-DXDiag and running the reinstall/repair for DX
-Ensuring VSync in my NVidia control panel is off
-Full hardware diagnostics (done by myself and subsequently by a professional at my own expense to ensure I didn't miss anything)
-Disabling Windows XBox overlay and any other overlay softwares
-Disabling Manufacturer overclocking (had to reinstall some manufacturer software I had removed to do this)
-Running FFXIV after a fresh restart with nothing else running
-Checking and updating all drivers and windows

There's probably a bunch of other things I have tried and am forgetting. I had a brief period about a month ago where the error would only happen after many hours of play and then go away, but it's back. Today, the farthest I have gotten is the game logging me in and then crashing as it tries to open the achievements notification login pane. This crash even happens during loading screens on occasion.

I've no rhyme or reason to hint at a source of this problem and nowhere left to try to find a solution. Please help!

Note that chkdsk would not normally be running, I am running it right now while I post this. I am prepared to remove software that might be the problem, but I am at a loss regarding where to look at this point (there's a lot of stuff on this list I forgot came on the computer.)

We apologize for the delay in response to this issue. The error you are describing may occur when DirectX crashes.

Please try the following:

- Try switching to DirectX 9 by selecting the ‘Config’ button on the launcher.
- Update and reinstall the drivers for your sound drivers (if applicable).
- Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
- Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive.
- Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
- Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
