honestly, there are some people who just wont like it, maybe you are one of them.I keep giving this game chances.. This is the 3rd chance I'm giving the game after launch. I read people writing in posts of leveling from 1-50 in 7 days with only a few hours of play each day. Is that possible? if so how? I want to at least reach lvl 50 to give end game a shot, but what is killing me about this game is the grind..I can't take it, It feels like ill never reach anything... Was going to lvl MNK for the looks but looks like I'm a have to do Warrior cause I don't see myself doing that 1-50 run ever again, since War has high priority. I lvled DRK in FFXI as 1st job and don't want to go through that experience again..
Hmm I've gotten my Mrd up to 42 a few weeks soloing. Its not that hard........ urghaaaharagah. It was ;_;
Assuming you've done all the main story quests and GC quests up until this point, maybe you should take some time and revisit the quest details/cutscenes in your inn room.
It seems like this game is just a huge loot pinata to you though, so that's probably asking too much.
1-10 - Kill mobs outside city
11-16 - Kill mobs inside open dungeon east of LL
17-20 - Kill jelly fish inside cave south of Camp Bloodshore
21-33/34 - without PL gonna take a while but Guild Leve
34/35-40 - Lv35 Company Leve - dump the protect the NPC ones and just concentrate on the ones where you kill enough mobs in 15minutes, or if you have high rank GC then take the one where you have to locate the 4 mobs and repeat for quick EXP reward while getting GC seals.
41-50 - Guild Leve, Behest, Company Leve (same method as above)
Well when i did the all the quest i read all the test. (If i didnt read it i couldnt tell you that i like how SE put a trap on the CUL quest line). Anyway, what i mean is that most of the quest and main mission are just irrelevant things, like send you to check something or help someone. You have a plop on behind but you don't get involved at all.Assuming you've done all the main story quests and GC quests up until this point, maybe you should take some time and revisit the quest details/cutscenes in your inn room.

I hate to compare but on XI on all the quest line you have a main plot and most time a big enemy to defeat you work along with other character to do it. Like on CoP with Prishe, Ulmia, Tenzen and the rest. Don't know if you played XI. If you like story on your mmo you should do it.
I'm the Princess of the Night~~
I've played mmos before but none like this one. I don't know much about this game but doing anything in FFXIV feels very time consuming so far. I just wanted to see how long it takes to reach cap, because in the pace I'm going and the way the game feels, it feels like ill never get there. And with the current status the game is in I don't think investing months to reach cap would be worth it, but since I read it can be done in under a month I'm willing to reach 50 and give FFXIV another shot. I played FFXI and I know that game was tedious to but at least you had distractions like a community, people chatting, shouting joking around,BCNM all that crap.And in WoW u can basically grind in dungeons in parties from 20-80, but in FFXIV it's like I'm in single player.
Takes me 2 weeks from 30 to 50 on just purely leves now...what grind?
Someone in this thread hasn't experienced the FFXI/Everquest grind.
