My money's on him being Oschon or Althyk.

Oschon seems like the obvious pick with him wearing green, preferring solitary wanderings, and telling tales.

However, as far as his name goes, Deryk shares the -yk ending for Althyk. Deryk's hair is purple while he wears green, most reminiscent of Althyk Lavender. He is also the one who has brought these trials to us. Althyk works in mysterious ways, after all (or so Jehantel told me).

Me too kinda think he is Oschon, the part where he is like to be alone kinda fit with Oschon lore, also my bias eye kinda think he is similar to Oschon's illustration.
for Baby opo-opo, I kinda think it might be related to Nophica, maybe her creation. it's a wild guess though.
Well, since Nophica have the same element with Althyk, we gonna meet them at the same phase too (Assuming we gonna fight 2 element/ visit 2 heaven at a time on each AR like current one).

From the Creation Myth, Oschon is the odd one out of the Twelve. He appears without explanation, because the "Whorl" from which the gods that were not the result of reproduction appeared, was still at the time.

Had always hoped that the three/four brothers that ferry us into the starting cities were one of the twelve.

But yeah, Deryk, the monkey or both is most definetly Oschon. I mean what traveller goes around with pink highlights!

I agree with the Deryk = Thaliak theory.

    My reasonings:
-The portal to the phantom realm is over water, Thaliak is one of the Twelve who govern water.
-The mark of Thaliak is in Mor Dhona, right across Lake Silvertear.
-The katakana (used for foreign words/foreign-sounding words in JP) for Thaliak is Saryaku (サリャク), and Deryk is Daryaku (ダーリック), sounding very similar.
-This one is a stretch but Thaliak is the Scholar. If this is a scheme of the Twelve's, who better to craft and execute it then the scholar. Not to mention, he's reached out to fellow scholars (NOAH and the Students of Baldesion) with something he knows they couldn't resist investigating.

I also think that it's going to be revealed that the Twelve are creations of Hydaelyn/Venat's creations like the Loporrits that were created to help get the sundered people of the Source started on their new lives before going dormant once their jobs were done.

Deryk is more than likely Oschon. His color scheme is green, he has a laurel in his hair, and he's an explorer/wanderer. He wears the Cape of Happiness that requires wind clusters to craft it, etc. If he pulls out a bow made of yew or a walking stick in 6.3, it will all but be confirmed. The only other he could be is Althyk.

It seems the raid order they are going with is based off the elements the Twelve represent which in turn represents the cities they represent. The first Raid we got was Ala Mhigo and Ul'Dah's patron gods(lightning and fire): Byregot, Rhalgr, Azeyma, and Nald'thal.

The 6.3 raid will be the patron gods of Coerthas and Gridania(ice and earth): Halone, Menphina, Nophica, and Althyk. The question is who the final boss of the raid is in 6.3, Halone or Nophica. By the precedent set in 6.1, it should be Nophica (Gridania's patron god), but maybe they will surprise us with Halone (Ishgard's patron god). Since Menphina will be in this raid series, Deryk will more than likely have a conversation with her if he is Oschon since they are lovers.

The 6.5 raid will lead to the reveal of Deryk and the patron gods of Limsa Lominsa and Sharlayan(wind and water):Oschon, Llymlaen, Thaliak, and Nymeia. Oschon could be the final boss, but I'm hoping it is either Thaliak (Sharlayan's patron god) or Llymlaen (Limsa Lominsa's patron god).

The baby Opo-opo is either Althyk or Nophica's familiar. My bet is on Nophica if she is the final boss in the 6.3 raid. Opo-opo are located in the North Shroud for reference near Hyrstmill.

My guess on the final alter Krile mentions is probably the gateway to the Seven Hells and my bet is that the Twelve guard that realm in order to make sure people who die return to the atherial sea (Underworld) instead of going to the Seven Hells.

So far, my guess is they're following the lunar cycle, where each god represents a specific month. Starting with month 7, we have Byregot, Rhalgr, Azeyma, Nald'thal. The order for the next raid would be Nophica, Althyk, Halone, Menphina, with the last being Thaliak, Nymeia, Llymlaen, Oschon.

The only reason I followed my order was because of the Heaven's gates in the Omphalos. Of the four remaining, The Ice and Earth Heavens are on the right and the Wind and Water heavens are the two in the back left and back right. Maybe they will surprise us with opening up the back one's first.

So happy to see this thread! I came here to make a thread on Deryk too!

For sure, he's Oschon. He has green coloring, he's a wanderer, and when he's looking at the centerpiece in the little hub area, he's almost directly in front of the Oschon symbol.

If I had to guess, he's either been so disassociated with the other twelve due to how long he's been wandering (doesn't relate to them / "travels alone") or he's part of their entire scheme and was the bait to get the warrior of light into the phantom realm.

It was so insanely on the nose for me I thought he was about to be revealed at the end or be the final secret boss. When the story ended I rolled my eyes lol. If he's not Oschon, I honestly think they must've changed the story or a massive red herring.

Trying to apply how alliance raid stories generally go, I think that while Deryk's someone of special interest and Oschon is definitely a figure of interest (if for no other reason than 'the structure as we know it says he's the final boss'), there's room enough to swerve from the natural assumption. So I think we're going to be led down the path of 'Deryk is Oschon', but ultimately not reach that as we expect. I like 'the opo-opo is Oschon' for that reason, there's enough room for them to swerve without it being too much of one.

Normal raids have the space to go several tiers of 'completely bananas' between the opener and the conclusion to the point where the end doesn't resemble the beginning, but that's mostly because they have room to progress the plot between a given patch's raids. You couldn't pull off Eden in the alliance raids, because Eden needed that space between raids to make the full sprint it needed to. For that reason, I have to assume we already have all the pieces, it's just that we'll be putting them together in an unexpected way. Compare with the Nier raids (and ignore anyone who's about to tell us the Nier raids are Bad Actually); broadly speaking all of the notes that would be important were already present in the Copied Factory and surrounding quests, we just didn't yet know what forms they'd be important in by the end.
